Great cards, awesome to color and meditate on.
I have ordered two sets now of these larger cards. I ordered the smaller ones (full 72-card deck) directly from BOTA, but prefer the larger set of the Major Arcana only for meditating and deepening the connections with the symbolism ingrained. Perfect for coloring, meditating on, and using as they were originally designed to be used. Heavy card stock allows good gel pens to cover well, sharpies do not bleed, and I have even used a White Oil-Based Sharpie to turn the black lines white where applicable. White gel pens do a decent enough job to make black lines fade so you can color on top, such as the wheels on The Fool's coat need to be red spokes not black. The Sun on the Fool should be white, the lemniscate over the Magician and Strength needs to be white, etc. A good White gel pen or a Sharpie Oil Based White works. Kudos to PFC for this deck as it is much clearer and deeper for the esoteric purpose than Waite was willing to publish. These cards will continue to "give" the more you use them for their intended purpose. It's like an unending well of infinite connections.

Great tool, but 22 cards, not 78!
This is a great tool. I do think if it were printed with thinner lines, you'd have more freedom with how you'd color them. The lines are think and dark. But that is really very minor. More important though is they have to, at amazon, stop indicating that this is 78 cards. It is the major arcana, no minors. That is not a problem, but it is a misrepresentation.

Good Deck
Good deck, larger than normal tarot cards. The deck is Major Arcana only and is uncolored and designed to be hand colored by the owner. If you are familiar with Rider Waite most of the cards will seem familiar with some distinct and quite appropriate esoteric changes. Waite obscured some things in his deck in order not to break his oaths and this is much clearer than his deck for esoteric purposes.

Expected much better than this....
There are pretty major issues with these cards, which are already a challenge (which i was aware of), since they are black & white, being meant to be colored oneself, as a learning tool. Well and fine, but firstly, they are quite small compared to 'normal' cards; but the very worst aspect is that they have no 'slide' & are very difficult to "operate" in the hand. They just sort of stick together in clumps. I realize that the pictorial surface, which is to be colored, can't therefore be coated; but it would behoove the publisher to coat the obverse side, so the cards can be manipulated without such wretched frustration. Also, a bit more size would make the coloring task not only easier, but a bit more meaningful and pleasurable. The only reason i did not return these was that i saw no reason to punish the seller in these difficult economic times.

great deck
I bought The Tarot: A Key to the Wisdom of Ages by Paul Foster Case about a month ago. Since then, the Tarot became deeply interesting and I had to purchase a suitable deck to study with. This led me to this deck. I have begun to color the cards and study a Major Key each day. The first thing I do when I turn 21 will be to send in an application to the B.O.T.A.I plan on acquiring more writings of Case's, and I plan on studying Tarot regularly.

A happy accident
What a happy accident! The vendor sent me the large sized Major Arcana set, instead of the regular sized 78 card set. However, that was also on my wish list also!

I would recommend
I’m giving these 5 stars, because they are super cool. I didn’t realize I only order the major arcana deck. So pay attention to that. Not a full tarot deck. But I’m happy with them.

MISLEADING - 22 CARDS NOT A FULL DECK!
Complete rip off!! The deck only includes the 22 major cards.

The only wisdom you will gain from these cards is ...
The only wisdom you will gain from these cards is not to buy them if you think you will get a full deck. The product description clearly says that the item contains 78 pages , by which one assumes there are 78 cards in the pack - but not so - it's only the 22 picture cards - and no colouring instructions

I do love these cards
I do love these cards. This is for the 22 Major cards only. They are left back and white for you to colour in yourself. Instructions for colours included. A great way to enhance your understanding of the tarot.

A Classic Deck
The B.O.T.A. Tarot is a major classic and harder and harder to find these days. I am grateful to be able to get a copy. The artwork of Jessie Burns Parke and the design of Paul Foster Case are a wonderful mix of the Waite-Smith Tarot along with the esoteric Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn symbolism and correspondences, as well as a mix of the classic Marseille de Tarot imagery. A wonderful mix of imagery, symbolism, and history.
