Works well for deer and rabbits
I have applied this to what I refer as my "salad bar plants" in my garden that deer and rabbits have enjoyed previously at my expense. So far, after a month and half since application, I have not had any animal damage to my hosta and hydrangea plants. I have seen a few damaged leaves on the hosta plants, indicating they may have sampled and decided they did not like what they were eating. I have a good number of plants in my yard and have selectively used the this product on the plants that have been victimized in the past. I use a half-inch rod to probe a hole down to the root structure of each plant and insert a tablet or two, depending on plants size (following instructions that are on container) in the hole and then cover the hole back up. To be completely honest, this is one of three strategies or lines of defense I have incorporated this year. (yes, I have a bad deer problem) I am using the "scarecrow" motion detector sprinkler head at the deer trail point of entry into the garden and I am also using Deer Scram around the periphery of the whole garden. The combination seems to have provided an excellent line of defense. What I like particularly about the pellets, is they keep working rain or shine, whereas the Deer Scram must be reapplied after heavy or prolonged rains. The pellets give me some peace-of-mind following rain that the garden will not be devoured between applications of the Deer Scram.

Very effective for ornamental plants
I have used this product for years with great results. It is really useful if you have occasional predation by deer, gophers or rabbits. I have found that when applied properly to healthy plants and allowed time to soak into the plants tissues via the roots, it will work well to keep deer and gophers from destroying ornamentals. I would not recommend this product to use on nectar-rich plants visited by hummingbirds, bees, or butterflies if you are trying to attract pollinators, or on anything that bears fruit. As far as I know the product is not toxic to animals, just unpleasant. I have been now using this product on several ornamental flowering plants and have found no adverse reaction by any pollinators including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds visiting the flowers. I have seen that rodents have completely avoided the treated plants in favor of untreated ones. Active ingredient is Capscasin, pepper extract, so it is non-toxic. Make sure to handle product with impervious gloves, the tablets will give you a lingering bad taste in the mouth if you mistakenly handle them with bare hands. Repellex is IDEAL for roses, lilies, annuals, or landscape trees and groundcovers. Great also if you are establishing a hedge or screen and need to keep deer off until they fill in. Where Repellex treated roses have grown over the fence, deer won't touch the foliage at all.

Product itself is great. The condition of the product received was in unuseable condition. 150 tablets to each container. Only 70 tablets were usable, the rest of the container contained disintegrated powder. Either the product was old and disintegrated, or the shipping and handling must have gone thru a war zone.

Works but very expensive.
I laughed at the flavor rating. Get this in your mouth and you can see why deer hate it. This stuff has to be used at the correct time. I'm not happy with the way they package it. By the time I got it many pellets were dust. It's supposed to be 50 but I got far less than that. They should put gauze inside like they do with prescriptions.

Repellex 20003, gret product lossely quality from Amazon
The product really does work and keeps the deer from eating what ever I use it on for about a year as claimed. But the problem I have with buying it thru Amazon is that for two years I have purchased 150 count bottles only to have over 50% of the pellets arrive as meal and the rest of the pellets soft and fragile. I have purchased the product locally and they are hard and intact and very stout. So what gives? have they been abused in storage? Am I receiving second quality products? I will not be ordering this product via Amazon again. Also this not the first review with this problem. SO SOME ONE NEEDS TO GET THERE ACT TOGETHER.

Miracle repellant stops deer and rabbits!
I love this product. It absolutely protects my hostas, daylilies, and other perrenials from deer, rabbits, and other wild creatures. Since it uses a natural repellant, capzation, there are not issues with chemicals. It does not smell like other urine based products. It may seem expensive but keep in mind you apply it once at the start of the growing season and do not have to reapply it for the rest of the year. Other products have to be reapplied often. I have found the cost for a season to be comperable or even a bit less expensive than other products on the market that work for both rabbits and deer. One of the reviewers mentioned that the tablets arrived broken. I noticed the shape of a single tablet has been changed since I purchased last time and my product arrived in good condition. Because this product uses hot pepper concentrate DO NOT use it on edibles.

can't say it works
I followed the directions and hoped for the best. At first, it seemed to work very well and I was cautiously optimistic. Not so now. I'm not sure if the deer were waiting for the plants to become more mature, but once the plants looked beautiful, they ate it down to the ground.
