12 pairs (enough for 3 shelves, not 4)
They work, but don't lock together like the ones that came with my other shelf. Don't care so much about that. What I do want to point out is that the listing says 24 PIECES, 12 pair. I did not read closely enough and now will have to order more. More upset at the store I bought the shelves from, since they neglected to put the clips in the box in the first place. Glad these are available.

We ordered the wrong size, but nonetheless, the clips were of solid quality and in the right amount.
The box of clips came promptly and with the right amount. Unfortunately, it turned out our shelving system needed 3/4" clips instead of 1" so we were not able to use it. The return process was very smooth. Although we were not able to use them, the clips were of good quality and looked like they will work with 1" diameter poles.
