Easy to use and produces a nice finish
I painted 6 kitchen chairs with this paint. What I love about these milk paints is they apply and level nicely. I have learned from past experience, that this paint has a slightly chalky feel to it when it first dries. However in time the paint seems to cure and it develops a nice smooth (satiny) finish. It may take a few months (possibly related to the temp/humidity) but it will happen and the finish will be smooth and durable. Very happy with this product. Will buy again.

No smell and goes on perfectly! Can’t see brushstrokes it’s perfectly matte!
Obsessed with this. First of all no chemical smell which is great because I don’t want my family breathing chemicals ink. I painted inside and it has ZERO chemical smell or smell at all. It went on effortlessly! I used a special brush I borrowed from a friend, the Annie Sloan brush, and used it with this paint and it dried so perfectly even you couldn’t even see the strokes. It looks professionally finished and I am no professional. I barely sanded at all, in my before photo that’s actually how little I sanded, I basically barely got any previous paint off, and went ahead and just painted over because this mama doesn’t not much time on her hands and it worked just fine!! Yay! Check out my piano photos! Buy this. I used 1/4 for TWO coated on an entire piano. Heard great things about this brand and they didn’t disappoint. Now what else am I gonna find in my house and paint? :)

Easy paint to work with, satisfying results, worth it!
The media could not be loaded. We just bought a house so of course I got into the whole diy your furniture thing. After some research I saw a lot of people mentioning milk paint! Now this isn’t real milk paint for those of you wondering but it achieves the look just the same. I wouldn’t change my decision for a second. I got this beautiful dresser and mind you it needed some refinishing. After some minimal hand sanding and wiping I got straight to painting! When I say I got this done in 40 min, would you believe me? Well believe me, because I did, and it’s such a rewarding finish. So if you’re conflicted about it, just buy it!

Best paint I’ve used thus far. Well worth the money!!
The media could not be loaded. Ok…So, I was very skeptical because this small can of paint was $50. I’m so happy I went with my gut feeling. Although, the can is small it packs a powerful punch.. you don’t need a lot because the coverage is superb. My nightstand was cherry wood and I turned it into a unique piece thanks to this paint. FYI.. I didn’t even prime first. I lightly sanded and cleaned with a paint cleaner and it turned out Lovely.. well at least to me it did.

I was slightly skeptical as I have been a fan of chalk paint in the past but this Milk Paint is great. It is very thick out of the can ...
This was my first time using General Finishes Milk Paint - although not my first time using any of their products. I was slightly skeptical as I have been a fan of chalk paint in the past but this Milk Paint is great. It is very thick out of the can which isn't necessarily a bad thing because it dries evenly and covers better than other thinner paints. The Lamp Black color is BEAUTIFUL and a totally matte black which is exactly what I was hoping for it to be. I applied it with a wooster angled brush that I had laying around and it worked perfectly. I used General Finishes Flat Out Flat top coat over top of the Milk Paint and it is beautiful. Tested it out on a bench I built for my bedroom and will be using it for all of the remainder of the bedroom furniture I am building. Will buy again

Great look. Needs a little tweaking.
I have used a variety of General finishes products including their "Milk" paint on one other occasion. My previous experience was applied with a brush. I was happy with the results, so I decided to try it again, but this time using a sprayer. I don't have a turbine, I just use a pancake compressor with a big box store spray gun. I was really happy with the product. It was really thick, and I felt like I needed to thin it to achieve a decent spray finish. This is a REALLY matt product. I had a few issues following sanding between each coat. I tried a number of types of cloths and rags, including paper towels to clean the surface for the next coat. But everything I used left behind a lot of lint/paper fibers/whatever. Very likely this is user error, but its not a problem I usually encounter.I used the General Finishes High Performance water based top-coat over the paint. It smoothed everything right out and left an amazing finish. Its been only a few weeks, so I can't speak to the long term durability, but it is holding up very well in a very high use application. Its easy to clean and doesn't seem to scratch easily.

Amazing product.
Wanted to "paint" my red oak instead of staining since the wood wasnt perfect but wanted the grain to show.Regular paint would just cover up the beautiful wood grain and the stain would show the wood blemishes.Did a bit of research and General Finishes made a "milk paint".This is not actually milk paint where you have to mix the power form to make it but more of latex like pre mix form. You must make sure the surface is prep and clean.Stir the paint and paint it like you would apply a stain. Its really a wonderful self leveling paint but try to avoid streaks.Apply at least two coats.Dries in a few hours. If you want a more durable finish add a clear coat. When it dries the wood grain shows but the blemishes are covered.Has a very unique antique look finish.A great alternative product vs regular latex paint.

Love it.
Moved into a place with an oak kitchen. Love the trees in the wild, not so much in the house. Painted with General Finishes Lamp Black. I wiped down the cupboard doors, and tried some with a very light sanding and some with no prep apart from the wipe down -no difference really. I use foam brushes and regular brushes to paint and for the final coat, I use a mini roller. No matter what you use, and I have tried all brushes, it has never left brush marks. Once dried, it always dries well. The first layer you will panic but do not, just let it dry and do another. You may need a third. I sanded the edges of the doors afterward, as I wanted a more distressed /rustic look. (In the pics, there are a couple of different handles because I was still deciding which to use). I used the general finishes satin coat over-top (one coat) and it holds up very well. I am still completing the rest of the kitchen. Very happy with the purchase overall.

Great product!
I really like this paint! Covers great, doesn't scuff that easy, has a sheen between flat and eggshell, lamp black is a great colour! The only thing that bothered me about this paint is the price! I cant find general finishes products anywhere near me.... so with the shipping included, a quart cost me almost $60! I was very hesitant to buy this product because of that. But I did and I am happy I did! It's great paint!

Amazing
This paint is beautiful and exactly the look I was going for. Used my Wagner sprayer to apply and had no issues. It's expensive but gives you the one of a kind look you want. Worked well with stained undercoat to give a great distressed look.
