Nova Max Plus Ketone Test Strips 10 Count, (40 Total)

I use these to monitor my health condition, which affects my metabolism. They consistently measure, except when you get a bad one... I"d say every few bottles you get a bad strip. You do have to make sure you don't leave the test strip sitting in the meter too long, or it seems to go bad. And you can't take too long to apply the blood sample, so make sure you have a good droplet before you go to test with the strip. I made some costly errors early on for both reasons.

Since I'm on a ketogenic diet, I purchased these strips and the Nova Max reader. I wanted to know how far into ketosis I am, and determine how much protein will take me out of it. I've used about 30 of the strips so far and have not had any problems whatsoever. These strips work very well and are nicely priced. All you have to do is make sure they are fully seated in the reader. You'll know it is fully seated when you can pick up the reader and hold it upside down without the strip coming out. As far as I know, these won't work with any other reader. The Nova Max reader, though, is good and reliable. While it won't connect to your iPhone, play games, or measure the mass of the Higgs Boson, it doesn't need to do any of that. If you want a cheaper way to reliably measure your ketones, go with these strips and the reader.

It is more sensitive than the other brand to give an error reading (beep with error after you insert the testing strip into the tester--if one is not careful how the testing strip is put into the testing unit. However, I found that after such error reading, if I pull the strip out and put it back slow and straight, it will work, I use 3 strips a day to monitor my ketosis level and of the 100 testing strips I so far used, I only found 1 that did not work. I am very satisfied with Nova Max Plus. I highly recommend it!

These strips have worked really well for me. Much cheaper than the other major brand and have proved to be quite accurate for ketone measurement.

Work great, but WAY too expensive. Please know that not only type 1 diabetics are using these now and those of that are trying to monitor nutritional ketosis aren't covered by insurance. Please come out with a more affordable test strip!
