Don Pepino Pizza Sauce, 14.5 Ounce (Pack of 12)

This is my go-to pizza sauce for my Neapolitan / Mediterranean style pizza at home. Never disappoints. Have been using it for a few years and is Consistently great.

I will never buy pizza again!!. I like to be able to make the sauce from scratch but not time. You saved the day. Your sauce smells amazing out of the can and taste freshly made, very impressive. Nice thickness as well we love extra sauce. We are always looking for a great pizza and flavor is SO IMPORTANT the sauce makes the pizza a pizza!!! now on with your sauce its homemade!! Don Pepino you took me back to when I was a kid going out with family to Shakey's pizzeria. There is nothing like getting a flavor back that gives you great memories as a kid. We are always saying how things just don't taste like they use to so thank you!!!! My grandkids loved it!! and now I can share what pizza was like when we were kids. And no more terrible pizza and wasting money. Please don't change a thing!!!

Once a week I make 2 10inch bar pizzas, this is a great sauce for that, it's a little sweeter than other pizza sauces. I'm now buying it by the case because I don't want to run out. Often if I have leftover pizza sauce in the fridge, I will add it to my spagetti sauce. I found I didn't care for it like that. But it's great for bar pizzas, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between one of mine & my favorite bar pizza joint.

While I've always enjoyed Don Pepino's pizza sauce, the percentage of dented cans I receive is a negative. Whether they start out dented, or end up that way, it sucks. If it's the distributor, or Amazon makes no difference. Carelessness should not be passed on to the consumer in the form of aggravation and potentially serious cuts from cans. ps: cost in 2014- $18 / cost in 2024- $36 100% increase?

More decades ago than I care to count, my favorite local pizza and sub shop in my neighborhood used Don Pepino pizza sauce, from seemingly huge cans. A few years later, it became available in smaller cans in the local grocery store. I started making my own pizzas as a hungry teenager, using this sauce. it's still my favorite to this day. It's a classic, straightforward pizza sauce, with the tomatoes being the main flavor. It's fantastic for a New York style pizza. Jazz it up a bit with a few spices, and it makes a great pizza of just about any style you can think of - Sicilian, Chicago deep dish, Detroit, Pan, thick crust, bar style, and many more.I've also used it in many recipes that call for a plain tomato sauce. I think it works wonderfully, with a bit more texture than a plain tomato sauce.I even use it as a dip for plain mozzarella cheese!I highly recommend it for a great tomato flavor.

This pizza sauce is the real deal. Better than my local pizza restaurants. I would have given it 5 stars, except the cans consistently arrived dented.

No other tomato sauce compares to Don Pepino, and I think Jeff Bezos for making it easier to purchase in bulk.
