If you like comics, you NEED to buy this
Daytripper tells the story of a man and how his life could change through his possible deaths. Maybe it sounds a little confusing, but it's actually very simple. I'm going to sound pretentious, but I think it's even philosophical.I don't own the TPB, but I think the hardcover edition is a must-have. If you're tired of superhero crossovers, make yourself a favor and buy this. The art is gorgeous and the plot is incredible touching. This book is just as beautiful as a graphic novel can get.

In Love With This One
Stunning artwork and a story with an infinite amount of brevity and feeling. It was a really lovely read, and I look forward to searching for other masterpieces by this pair.

Read on...
My present understanding of the world we live in is that it has grown, like a tree. Each failure of the sun, each time the earth moved too far to stay warm enough is just a part of the roots. Each time life fails makes the next step more sure until leaves and flowers emerge and berries rich with life come into being. This book follows that idea and swims in those failures and victories. It is unique and moving. It spoke to me. I hope you enjoy it too.

A gorgeous book and beautifully written, too
This beautifully written and beautifully drawn work by a pair of Brazilian twin brothers is without doubt the most engrossing and most innovative graphic novel I’ve come across in several years. It certainly deserves the Eisner Award it won. Blas de Oliva Domingos, an aspiring novelist, is the son of a famous author but the only writing he can make a living at is newspaper obituaries. He has a talent for dealing with death -- which is a good thing, because in this series of not really independent chapter, he’s going to die over and over again, at many different ages, and from a variety of causes ranging from drowning during a fertility festival and being shot during a robbery to electrocution as a child and being murdered by his best friend shortly after the publication of his first book. The story has a Fellini flavor to it that will hold your attention as Blas comes to terms with his life, and with all the people in it who have made him who he is -- even when he doesn’t get to enjoy very much of it. The artwork is truly outstanding, with each figure being drawn in a complexly subtle and individual way. This could easily have been written as a novel, with no drawings at all, but the high quality of the art raises it to a new level. And while the story could as easily have been set anywhere, the culture of Brazil provides another intriguing background layer. An amazing book and I’m going to be recommending it to everyone I know.

Amazing.
I am not usually a fan of this sort of graphic novel. I prefer Hellboy to heartfelt, if you know what I mean. However, I think this is a particularly exceptional volume. The story is moving, the art outstanding, and the concept, while certainly not light, never collapses under the weight of its seriousness. Powerful stuff. Highly recommended.

A masterpiece
A triumph among others graphic novels. Beautifully illustrated. One of the most impressive works I have read in the comic medium.

Schönheit des Lebens!
Unvergesslicher Comic, der mich tief berührt. Liebe, Freundschaft, Familie, Tod. Alles kann man nicht nur intellektuell lesen, sondern fühlen. Für mich - obwohl sonst sehr kritisch im Bereich Comics - eine wohltuende Offenbarung.Schläft Lebensratgeber und anderes um Längen.

Viva no momento
A edição capa dura é simplesmente magnífica. Senti um apreço gigante só ao olhar a capa.As páginas são grandes e confortáveis. Dá pra ler e marcar o progresso de forma direta.

Great Story
I hesitated to buy the hardcover but now I'm glad I did. The comic itself is great, and this edition only makes it better.
