All ingredients are listed on the label. Betaine HCl Pepsin & Gentian Root is a combination of nutrients that may be beneficial for promoting healthy digestion when taken at the start of a meal. Gentian, a bitter herbal, combines with Betaine HCl to help maintains a healthy pH in the stomach, supporting normal protein digestion, mineral, small intestine pH, and B12 absorption. Pepsin is the chief digestive enzyme in the stomach, which breaks down proteins into polypeptides. Betaine HCI Pepsin Gentian Root Extract is often taken with Pancreatic Enzymes.

Vital Nutrients follows FDA defined Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP) including the use of high-quality raw materials. Magnesium Silicate is considered to be a Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) ingredient as are all forms of Silica and Silicate. Health risks of silica have been reported in the clinical literature and these appear to be associated to inhalation of the fine material and as it may embed into lung tissue. Since silica is a nutrient known to support bone, joint and skin health the use as a supplement (orally consumed) has not been related to defined health risk and rather supports healthy systems. Specific to your concern of talc – the issue on use of talc is that low quality material often used by companies without cGMP processes in place, may sometimes use material with asbestos – which is a known carcinogen. If talc is used as a source of magnesium silicate, it’s important that the material be tested for asbestos and found to be free of this compound. When Vital Nutrient's has received this material, this is always the case. While they believe silica in general is safe, several months ago they made the decision to remove magnesium silicate from all products and have switched to other naturally derived excipient forms (i.e., ascorbyl palmitate, leucine, etc.) and to pure forms of silica. All of these changes are in process of rolling out when each of the limited skus of issue are being produced. Vital Nutrient's appreciates and recognizes your concerns and values your feedback.
