I ordered these to repot 30 African violet cuttings taken from a very old plant that had gotten leggy and unbalanced. I’m very pleased with how well they function. Following the advice from another reviewer, I made sure I pressed the potting media into the ‘legs’ of the inner pot, so it could wick up to the plant. Its adaquate to water them once per week.The pots are stable and the lime green color looks nice next to the foliage. I like the square-ish shape over a round shape because they fit nicely next to each other.The potting material works well, but I needed to buy more planting media to finish. In spite of this, I will be back to order more when the need arises. The price is very fair for the high quality and appearance of these pots.

These little pots are great starting pots, and my plants grew quickly at first. However, it seems that they cannot sustain herbs and other plants long term, so they must be replanted. The roots quickly outgrew the pot into the water and then began to rot on all of the various herbs I planted. Both my lavender and lemon balm are yellowing/browning, and I read that it is being caused by the roots reaching the water. I will definitely keep using these pots to start my plants!

I was really excited for this product as I have multiple African Violets and was hoping this would keep them consistently watered with less work. I did as other reviewers mentioned and packed the little indentations at the bottom with the provided dirt to be sure it was all absorbing well, and filled water to the line as indicated.One plant went down first, which I could chalk up to a fluke, maybe transplant shock. I did notice the soil seemed not just moist but soaked, so had my reservations looking at my soggy dead plant. Then, the next plant died, with a third on its way out, clearly water-logged and rotten from too much water. With violets, the sturdy leaves essentially turn to mush. I’m trying to save the last plant but it’s not looking good. I did only as directed, and with plants that were healthy and blooming prior.I shouldn’t have believed something too good to be true, and I have dead plants to show for it!

I love having blooming flowers (especially African Violets) in my apartment. For best results, I prefer planter pots where the inner pot holds the plant and the outer pot holds the water. (They only need to be watered every 5 to 7 days.)I just purchased 3 miniature African violet plants from our local nursery that should do very well in the 3.5" pots. The first photo shows one plant potted and 2 in their original containers. The other photo shows 3 mini plants next to a full-size African Violet plant. I also plan to use these pots as starter pots for full-size African violet plants.

These are fabulous! Easy to put together & you’re ready to fill with the enclosed sod discs & then plant with your favorite seeds or small plant. I bought some catgrass seeds & they sprouted beautifully. All you have to do to keep watered is lift the black inserted cup from the red outer container & check the marked fill line. If it’s empty or low, just fill to the line inside the red container & reinsert the black cup. Voilá! Oh, & these cups are sturdy & heavier than the usual small plastic containers, so my cat doesn’t knock these over, Yea! Plus, a set of three is perfect for my needs since I have one sprouted for my cat, one in the dishwasher, and one ready for sprouting new seeds. Love!

Service and shipping were spot on. They are self watering and water lasts about a week and a half or so.I do not care for the color. It's more of a yellow green which doesn't go with my decor. Would have liked the color that was on my computer screen, more of a mint or seafoam green..I wanted it for my African violet but they are way too small for that!They are really too small to plant much of anything lasting. On a positive note I will definitely put them to use starting seedlings and such. They will be perfect for that because they come with seed starter pellets and small plastic bags to keep in moisture. I think I will like them for that purpose. I was just disappointed in the color and size.

I love these little planters! I have a shelf unit hanging in a large, bright window. I have a number of small succulents and orchids that absolutely love that location. I finally found a shelf unit that works, but all my small ceramic pots would be too much weight. I happened to stumble across these on Amazon. The size was perfect, the self-watering feature a no-brainer and the color selection diverse enough so I could make it fun! My plants are absolutely thriving! I have reordered another set and will definitely order more as my succulents continue to multiply!

These pots are AMAZING! When the coco coir is used, the growing medium stays very evenly moist making this the ideal growing container as the pot provides for both the needed moisture AND the oxygen needed by the root system. The gap between the inner pot also provides the ideal air pruning for a healthy root system.I drilled a very small hole thru the top sides of the outer pot, inserted a 24 inch loop of 80 pound fishing monofilament line thru the 1/16 inch hole and tied a figure 8 knot to form a hanging loop. After adding a thin 24 inch strip of maple from Loews to the top of window frame, the pots were hung by simply sliding the loop around the strip. While it is obvious that I am ecstatic about the product - the best part of this sale was the INCREDIBLE customer service. Their response and concern for the customer is simply the very best.
