Overall Experience After purchasing a UE Boom speaker, I will never get another brand. For a speaker that runs off a battery, it is extremely impressive. Despite being on the more expensive side, it is well worth the price for several key reasons. It is extremely durable, has great sound quality, and is very portable. If you are an outdoor adventurer and love music, the UE Boom is definitely something you will want to take with you. But even if you aren’t as adventure-prone, I would still recommend it. It has not only replaced my old and bulky home speaker system, but it also comes in handy when playing music in my car (which has a really old stereo system). Durability Durability is one of the essential factors in a portable speaker, because, without it, you may feel less free to bring it along with you for various outdoor activities. Because the UE Boom is not only drop-proof, but also waterproof (I have tested both, multiple times), you don’t need to even think about protecting your speaker as you would other electronics. Bringing it on your adventures will become as automatic as bringing a water bottle. Sound Quality Not only is the speaker durable enough to withstand the wear and tear of an outdoor lifestyle, it also has excellent sound quality and volume. Because of this, it is also very convenient to use to boost movie audio at home or to play music in your car (assuming you have an older car). For those of us who have older TVs and/or cars, and who don’t want to spend money on a home speaker system or car stereo, a UE Boom is a great solution for all of these problems at once. Additionally, with regards to the max volume, when using it at a park, I often don’t even have the volume maxed out for fear of being rude to those around me. That’s how loud it can get. Portability The portability of the UE Boom is my another of my favorite aspects. As mentioned earlier, bringing it with you will likely become as habitual as bringing a water bottle. Its size is actually slightly smaller than a water bottle, and despite that, its battery lasts 2-6 hours depending on how loudly you like to play your music. If you want to extend the battery life, one thing you can do is use a good power bank with it (only about $20-$30), and that can keep it playing your music for 5-7 hours. I definitely would recommend purchasing a UE Boom and hope that you have as good an experience as I have had so far!

This review is based on direct comparison of various, portable, blue tooth speakers. I had a Bose, a Mini Jambox, a Ministry of Sound, and this UE Boom 2. I've always loved my trusty little Jambox, but it was out of the race fast due to complete inadequacy in volume against the others. Great sound, super battery life, but rather quiet. Ministry of Sound: short battery life (only about 4 hours of playback), tons of "skipping" or cutting out, which made for a terrible listening experience, and all tones were very "muddy" rather than, crisp, clear, layers of sound. The Bose sound is good in range, but very "flat." It has slightly more bass range than the UE Boom 2, but does not reach the same level in layered, rich sound that fills the room. Hands down, the UE Boom 2 won in all sound comparison. At any volume level, even top volume, the sound was rich, distinctive, layered, and completely fills my entire house. On top of that, it has a superb playback time of 15 hours on a charge. Most impressive feature of all is that this little device magically exceeds all others in Blue Tooth range!! Most devices have a standard range of 30 feet, although in reality it seems like even 15 feet makes most Blue Tooth devices start to complain. Walls or obstacles make it much worse. With the UE Boom 2, I could take my phone to the farthest reaches of my home, behind walls and closed doors, and not lose ANY connectivity, with no disruption to playback and sound whatsoever. It's unheard of and I really had to see it to believe it!! Pricewise, this speaker is a comfortable mid-range for what is available. I was looking at options ranging from around $100 to over $350. For all the performance stated above, $145-198 is really reasonable for this device.

At first i was reluctant because of the huge competition,JBL, Fugoo, Bose, Harmon, Philips etc., i started going to malls and listing to everything i could put my hands on but it was just too much choices: loudness vs quality, portability vs sound, lows vs mids vs highs, expensive vs cheap claiming to be great, you name it. So i narrowed my search within the same price range / features and after lots of testing i ended up comparing Fugoo and UE BOOM 2, Fugoo is available in the local market so i could test how it sounds in person and believe me its a nice product the only issue i had with it is the weird shape and the not so clear lows, total loudness is great but place a flip 2 (not flip 3) next to it and it will demolish it (loudness and not quality). since UE Boom 2 is not available locally i had to depend on the reviews and believe me i read and saw lots mixed ones, a point that my wife looked at me one day and told me you did research on this thing more than you did on our honeymoon trip. Both are heavy on weather / shock proofing IPX7 and voice call feature, the deciding factor at the end was the looks (UE BOOM 2 brain-freeze edition won hands down) and battery life (Fugoo has the longest duration of them all claiming 40 hours its nice yes but a car charger / power bank and all the USBs and electrical sockets in the world can help solving this). despite me never knowing how it really sounds (you-tube is never accurate) eventually i chose to take the plunge on the UE BOOM 2 depending only on the reviews (its weird how humans have this infinite lust for mystery). Amazon did great with the delivery as usual and voila packaging check, looks check, built quality check, application installed and speaker updated check, its the moment of truth the speaker has only sole job to do and yessss it performs in the sound department, just what i wanted and visualized: lows, mids, highs, hip hop, house, techno, classic you name it, this tiny thing is awesome and with this price drop i would highly recommend it.

This is expensive, but it's a quality item. It looks like Apple built it, but the best thing is that it isn't made by Apple. (I'm an Apple products hater.) It has a universal charger (same as an android phone), and everything (even the power cord) is built nicely. Inside the house, it goes loud enough to hurt your ears if you're close by. Expecting big bass is totally unrealistic for something this size, but it has very clear and bright sound. I plan on using it for working outside, and for camping. *Update* Still sounds excellent. Sound is huge if the Boom 2 is put in front of a wall, or in a corner. Also tested the range, and it was still playing from 200 feet away (in a straight line, with no obstacles in the way.) It didn't cut out at 200, and probably can go further.

The speakers are soooo good. I use them all the time just around the house. The sound is amazing, it doesn't crackle or stop and the power lasts for so long. It also connects to my TV and we don't have another speaker and this is really enough. The sound is also very clear, you can tell it's not made from cheap quality. I also got water on it one time and it still works :) The only think I don't like is when you increase the volume on the speaker it makes a loud beep lol. Otherwise it's awesome!

I upgraded from the ue boom 1 to the ue boom 2. The sound quality is pretty much the same but the battery life has drastically increased and the durability has also increased making is water resistant and can be dunked under water too!! The packaging is really good and comes with three adaptors to charge it with international power sockets. If you don't won't water resistance then you should go with the Ue boom 1 and save some money as the sound quality is pretty much the same. With the boom 2 you can tap the top side of it to pause and play music which you couldn't with the earlier boom 1 and can also access Siri or google assistant with the boom 2.

Unfortunately the reconditioned speaker fails and breaks Bluetooth I bought this to pair up and still find myself only using the original speaker But when it works it’s as good as new It just breaks up and looses connection
