will this chair be okay for someone who is more on the plus size side ? like it is comfortable ? i am working from home

It’s more of an aesthetic chair, so something really nice to look it but not as comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time. I think it’s the firmness for me. My boyfriend can sit in it for hours playing video games (he def broke it in so that may help) but I don’t care to sit in it for over 5 minutes. It was sort of a low back so your back is sort of hanging off of it. And it’s leaned backwards so the position is a little awkward to work in. Personally, I wouldn’t recommend as a chair to work in, sitting is fine, work no.

Would this work as a desk chair for a 30" tall desk?

I would not recommend it for everyday use this is a more for show chair designated for like a sitting Room or special occasion I don't think it would be durable enough to be set in everyday unless your under a 120lb
