All Time Favorite Books
These books, in particular Wolf of the Plains (the first one) are some of my favorite books of all time. I saw the great reviews and had read the author's first two books in the Ancient Greek series so knew I loved his style (those two are great as well), but was skeptical because never really considered the Mongol Empire interesting enough to dive into. Boy was I wrong. Not only are these books some of his best writing, the story itself is fascinating. Note that this is not 100% historical accuracy, but its accurate enough that you get the real essence of the events that takes place and the story sticks in your memory much better than dry historical fact. Would also add that much about Genghis Khan and the early part of the empire in particular is unknown, so can't really say that the book is inaccurate. By the end of the series I found myself wanting to do much more research on the subject and it continues to fascinate. Couldn't be more pleased with this series.

Read them!
Conn Iggulden is one of the few authors that are consistently good at writing captivating books. If you want some almost completely accurate history with some deep, action packed, dramatic story. Buy it.When I was traveling I didn’t have internet. Decided to do some reading to pass by time. Started with the Emperor series and hated when I was finished, because I had to scavenge the book stores in other countries to find the next books. I had to limit myself to 50-60 pages a day so I didn’t burn through them. The Conqueror series luckily has the same amount of excitement. I am unwell currently and have lots of time to rest with these beautiful books. Thanks for making something better than digital media!

Outstanding
This is one of the best book series I have read (and I have read this twice) in a long time. I highly this serious to anyone who wants to learn about an important part of world history that is not taught in school.

Good worth reading
What can I say. Good quintet of novels. The writing was easy to easy the story engaging if you like blood shed and battles. The last book was my favorite though because it talked of building a nation instead of just one prolonged blood bath

Starts off excellent but then....
The first two books are superb. By the 3rd book in the series you can tell the author is grasping for story line. There are pages of useless story line that do nothing for the saga or any character development. By the first two books in the series, skip the rest. After the Khan dies, who really cares?
