Perhaps not what a Brit would call "value for money", but peanut butter of an excellence that's hard to find. No nonsense: no sugar, no palm oil, not emulsified chemically or otherwise into a runny caricature of peanut butter. Ingredients are peanuts and a bit of salt. The result is tasty, with just enough texture to be substantial. -- (For those new to natural peanut butter: it contains only peanuts and sometimes salt, with no added emulsifiers or sugars. The natural oils from the peanuts separate from the solids, forming a layer on top that requires stirring before each use, a quick easy task.)

Good old-fashioned, unadulterated peanut butter. Delicious. Nice texture. Great taste.

Less sugar per serving than most peanut butter brands.Cons: The oil separates from the pulp and constantly needs stirring to homogenize the product.Updated review: I’m really disappointed in this Old Fashioned Crunchy peanut butter. I purchased the 6-pack (expiration date 8/2017) to take along with me on a trip overseas. I just finished the first bottle before leaving home and it was fine, except for the constant oil separation issue. The second bottle that I just finished, of which I had to pour of nearly ½ cup of oil floating on the surface before I could even get to the crunchy peanut butter, was more of a struggle. I tried my best to stir it in, but only managed to slosh the stuff all over myself. By the time I got to the bottom of the bottle, it was super-hard. Forget spreading it on a sandwich or a stick of celery! Nevertheless, since there is no peanut butter in this country, I chose to cut it with a knife and eat the cubes. That was not very appetizing, and as a result, it’s taken me all this time to get through the second bottle. Since I had had the floating oil problem with the first jar, I flipped the others in my stash upside down in hopes the oil would float to the bottom of the jar that was now on top. No such luck. The third jar I just opened, with its ½ cup of oil still on the impenetrable surface, despite my efforts, smells completely rancid. We’re still 4 months from expiration date. Totally stale. I tried the remaining 3 bottles. Same story. This Old Fashioned Crunchy peanut butter was a waste of money, and it sure was a waste of valuable suitcase space.

This peanut butter came packaged very well and the flavor is excellent! I was expecting it to be less sweet because it's a natural, no sugar added item and was pleasantly surprised by the depth of flavor and thrilled because of the health benefits. Packaging was great and it came perfectly intact, sealed, with no leakage. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because, even after stirring a long time, all the way to the bottom, and each time I use it, the peanut butter is a bit runnier than what I prefer. I expected there to be a separated layer that needed to be stirred in (as I grew up with Costco buckets of natural Adams peanut butter), but this never seems to thicken all the way. Maybe I received a bum jar?

People should understand up front this is the kind of Peanut Butter that needs stirring. Quite a few reviewers seem confused on that point. Once you've stirred it well, you put it in the refrigerator and it'll become quite THICK. To make stirring easy use a Grandpa Witmer Peanut Butter Stirrer. This jar has a 2 3/4" diameter lid so you need the Model 300 Stirrer. Also, this peanut butter does NOT have high fat, high oil content. Look at the label. The per cent fat is the same as the Laura Scudder or Adams 100% Natural brands. And finally, I've had problems getting glass jars of peanut butter delivered without breakage. This peanut butter jar is plastic, so no worries there.

The peanut butter tastes good! But its very expensive and contains added salt.I read many comments centered around the texture: difficult to use…. Too runny etc etcWhen you first get it, open the jar and stir it vigorously with a knife, then put the lid back on and place in the frig; after a few hours you should be able to spoon it out the way you like.It just costs too much to try and eat healthy foods.

Delicious peanut butter and without any additives!

I love my crunchy peanut butter. I've searched many brands of organic crunchy, only to be not satisfied. However, this brand, is by far the best. Not too oily, not too dry, perfect texture. And, it is well mixed with an abundant amount of crunchy nuts. It's the best!
