Keep it simple
I use Luxafor to show my team how concentrated I am. Red does not mean they can't talk to me - but they should think twice before interrupting me. Green means they can interrupt me at any time. I like that Luxafor is simple and functional. You install it with a magnet where ever you want it to be seen and connect it via USB. The downloadable software is easy to use. You change the color using presets or a slider for free color selection. You can adjust the brightness also. If you want to connect the product to third party software or an API, you can do that.

Great find
This thing is amazing! Great for use in the office especially if you use Bluetooth headphones that are hard for people to see when you're on calls etc. I primarily purchased this for my home office, so when my kids come home from school while I'm at work, they know at a glance from the doorway whether I'm approachable or in a meeting or otherwise unavailable. I love how customizable it is and easy to use. The only gripe is that the mobile app cannot connect to it AT ALL. Good thing it works just fine from the desktop application. I love it and have already been complimented on it since owning it less than 2 days.

Unable to download software, website on packaging to download doesn't work.
Cord Is way to short, it won't reach the top of the monitor, wish I got the longer one, I didn't see that option until I already purchased them both. it cannot used without software but the website on the packaging does not connect to a website. I bought two, neither can be used when I connect it to the computer it lights up white then goes dark. Nothing happens afterwards. I went to the website listed on the packaging, Luxafor.us/download and it says their server is down I also went to luxafor.us and luxafor.com nothing. all other websites work I checked my computer, I tried another computer and same problem. I will open the second one and see if I have a problem with that one. but so far extremely disappointing. I was looking forward to buy the bigger ones but not anymore, I will shop around for other companies that their websites work

You'll need to install the software to use. Easy to find on the Luxafor website.
I work from home and this is a great little sign to others in the house for when I'm available and when to be quiet. It's really easy to install and use. There are a variety of colors and they are all quite pretty. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Don't Purchase It If You Intend To Use It for Gmail
I know the primary selling point for this is to notify your co-workers of your status in the workplace, it does that fine. However, I purchased the flag with the primary intent to have it notify me when I receive an email in my business email. (that's run through Gmail) It's a listed feature, the day I get it, I plug it into my computer and when I attempt to sync my Gmail in the free software and sign in through Google; it denies access to my account due to Google considering it a security issue. I contact the help email of Luxafor, to their credit, the email response was fast. Their feedback was that they were attempting to sort things out with Google, and so they provided a list. Among the items they suggested, they suggested going through the "email process" (which is simply a more in depth process of locating your email ID and changing settings on your Google account) after that process, Google still denied it. I also could disable security functions for my Google account to allow it, which would allow any software (malware or not) to install itself onto my account, they recommended not do that. The last option would be to download more third party softwares on top of the Luxafor software to enable it. At this point it's become too frustrating to enable something that has a basic and simple function. Once that's stripped away, you're left with little more than a 30 dollar LED light that you mount to your monitor. I sent it back with the return label in packaging 8 days ago and my refund has yet to be deposited into my account. If it doesn't soon, this review is changing to one star.

RED: YES I'M BUSY!
I bought two of these. One for my office and one while I travel to my various remote offices. People in my offices continually walked up behind me and asked if I was on a call since they could not see my Bluetooth ear peice in my ear. Most of the time the answer was YES. That's no longer an issue. I use the included software to connect the light to my Skype at work. It automatically changes color based on my calendar which is integrated with Skype (RED Busy, GREEN Available, etc.). I can also change the color manually if necessary when I need time to focus on some work. Now no one asks if I am on a call or busy. I used velcro stickers to attach the one to my office wall and the other to the top of my laptop while I am traveling. What a great product! I highly recommend it.

Nice little visual flag
The only really usable integration for me was in Skype, which in turn taps into my Outlook calendar. Many people use this light to notify coworkers that they're currently busy (stay away flag). I use it as a visual reminder I'm supposed to be in a meeting. Works for that, but only in Skype. Wish it had more modes, like a blinking reminder mode synced to Outlook alerts/reminders. It has no direct Outlook integration. As it stands, it only visually reflects your available/busy/away Skype status, but doesn't do say "15 minutes before" alarms or reminders. Has other SDK integrations, but none are very useful to me beyond Skype. Does integrate with Zapier, Webhook, Jabber, Pomodoro, though. Very useful for me, though, to have a visual red light signifying I'm supposed to be "busy" in a meeting, so this product is a successful purchase, overall.
