YES IT IS DIFFICULT to install in a Rogue...its true. The manufacturer put the filter in a weird place under the globe compartment and the rigidity of this filter makes it seem impossible. I can't fault the product for that. This was one of the two Prime options at the time for my vehicle, it was next day and I don't like to wait so I chose the more difficult product. You can do it if you care to put in the effort!1) First thing you want to do when you take it out of the box is bend it like an accordion. You want to get some creases in it. You'll be able to feel when all the stiffness has been bent out.2) Next get your Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screw, then remove the cover and pull out your old nasty filter. Get rid of any leaves or debris.3) Take note of the airflow direction. I suggest that you insert the new filter at an angle and tilt it back and forth...kind of squishing the top/bottom together gently and pushing it into it's housing at the same time. Squish, tilt, rock, push. Gently so you don't rip it.4) Replace cover and screw. Give yourself a pat on the back.It will work. It took me like 20 mins but I did get it in successfully and I was also taking breaks in between since it was 100 degrees outside. This was my first time changing the filter so you can do it too! Beats paying someone to do it.

I bought this filter for a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The included installation instructions were useless, so I viewed a YouTube video. To access the filter a person has to kneel next to the open passenger door, lay your upper body on the passenger floorboard and access a panel behind the center console next to the firewall, it would help if you are a contortionist. An access door covering the filter slot was easy to pull off. To remove the filter it has to be compressed from top to bottom as you work the filter out of it's slot, which was easy with the thinner, flexible factory filter. This Spearhead filter is advertised as being twice as thick, and it is, and there lies the problem. It is so thick that it does not want to compress so you can work it into the slot. The ends of the filter will compress some, but the rest of the filter does not want to compress because it is so thick. I had a devil of a time getting the filter installed and had sweat running down my face by the time I was done fighting with it. I will not buy this filter again.

The build of this product is solid. Better than the OEM. 5 stars for that. I'm only subtracting a star because the instructions that are included are so basic they are pretty much worthless.I have a 2018 Nissan Rogue and these filters are a tad more difficult to remove/replace that other vehicles I have owned. The problem is, they don't just slide in/out. You have to squeeze in on the sides of the filter to deform it to get it to fit in the opening. You then have to work a bit to get the entire filter in and try and make sure it pops back into it's original shape. Other filters on the market are much more flimsy and so deforming them is much easier. Since these are built so well, they require a bit more effort to deform them to get them install. However, the better build quality probably helps them to bounce back to the correct shape once inserted.All in all, a solid product that I will continue buying for my Rogue.FULL DISCLOSURE: I was offered a free filter for leaving a review. Though it's a great replacement, the design of my 2015 Rogue adds difficulty in installation of this and other filters.

After buying new tires and a battery for our 2014 Rouge, I realized it was time to also change both the engine air filter, as well as the cabin air filter. Amazon offers replacements from a number of vendors, and I initially chose a slightly less expensive one with good reviews. However, after reading a few of the negative reviews for these, particularly that they don't filter as well as some of the slightly more expensive ones, I cleared my cart and found these offered by SpearHead are much superior and only pennies (ok, a few dollars) more. The slight extra cost is well worth the extra quality you get. Neither filter requires any tools to install. The engine filter took me all of 5 minutes (I wish my VW made it as easy). Access to removing and installing the cabin filter is somewhat of a pain because of Nissan's placement under the front passenger console; however, it is doable.I compared the old Nissan OEM filters to these SpearHead ones, and believe these replacements may be even better made. Next time I need to change filters, I'll definitely look to buy these well made products again.

Overall the filter is top quality, definitely an upgrade from the OEM filter for build quality and air freshening with active carbon.My issue is no fault of the maker of the filter, the install requirement for my Nissan requires the ability to "pinch" or compress the filter, in the same direction the pleats will collapse easily, in order to angle the filter properly into the enclosure. This filter is far more rigid than the OEM and does not compress easily to facilitate easy install, it was a little bit of a struggle. This will not be an issue for vehicles where the filter simply slides in to the holder, but is an issue with Nissan Rogues. Hopefully the filter sprung back to full size in the enclosure, Ill know for sure in 6 months when I replace it.I will say the air from the climate control system has improved and outside odors seem non-existent or greatly reduced for real smelly things like truck exhaust.

I would say a great quality product and recommend it for friends. It is definitely well made and, unlike my previous cabin filter, this one had decent foam gaskets on the two ends. It fit into the slot much better than the previous one, and you can only really get it to slide in when it's in the correct orientation (foam gaskets to the front and rear, not the sides). This new filter has the airflow arrow clearly marked, and it came with instructions specific to my vehicle. Came for Great price too.
