We began reading The Lemonade War as part of a community reading project & enjoyed it so much...
The neighborhood (Berwick, Pa and surrounding school district) read 'The Lemonade War' together. I'm not exactly how or why that came to be. We enjoyed it as a family and wanted to see how the story continued. We ordered 'The Lemonade Crime' and finished that as part of our summer reading program and enjoyed it fully. 'The Bell Bandit' is next on our list. We highly encourage the series. To close the loop, we did read the entire series (5 books in all) and cannot say enough good things about it. Still a highly recommended series for young readers. In addition, if your young reader enjoyed this series, might we also recommend the Theo Boone, Kid Lawyer series by John Grisham. We are thoroughly enjoying that series as well.

Great Read
Evan and Jessie are the best characters, I love them, because they're always lighting up the story in ways the other characters can't. Scott kind of reminds me of the "Bad/Odd" kid, but it doesn't mean that he's a bad character. A lot of this story requires his assistance to help move it along. Davies writes in the type of NEWBERRY HONOR style you see in books like SAVVY by Ingrid Law. She doesn't leave out important details, which is one thing I don't always agree with. In this case, I support this idea full on. The reason I gave it a five is because it has an amazing plot and everything always ends up being a laugh. I'm sure the sequel will be the same fun-loving book style, and you will NEVER forget this story!!!

Thumbs up (
Readers out there. I would say that this would be the best book I've read in my life. I loves how they used all of those idioms, and you could feel their amoshion in the book. I think the couple last chapters were pretty, like oh my gosh. Or I can not believe it! I recommend this book to people who like court maybe because they had a court and there was I judge, witness, and lawyers. I also recommend this book to people who people who like revenge. I think the theme was be happy of what you have because in the story Jessie and Evan wanted their money back, and they New that Scott had the $208 dollars, but be happy with what you have. I would be angry to, but I would try to get over it. Also I think the theme is don't lie because in the book, wait a second, I can't spoil the end. You just read the book and figure it out, I think you will love this book.

a delightful sequel
Evan and Jessie are siblings who are convinced that Scott Spencer took something from them. In the previous book, THE LEMONADE WAR, money made from selling lemonade was stolen. This sequel is a follow-up in which readers get to see what's going on with the missing money. Accusing Scott of theft isn't the easiest thing since Evan and Scott are friends, plus Scott is popular. Nevertheless, Jessie wants to see justice served. Their class creates a mock trial complete with a courtroom, jury, and audience. People take sides, argue about who'll be the judge and attorney, and are shocked when the truth about the money comes out. This is a delightful sequel. Children are sure to learn about the legal process since Jessie and company aim to adhere to the law. Dynamics between friends and weaving a web of secrecy and lies are other themes found in this book.

I was buying these for a school reading group and they were a better price on Amazon than at my local kid's bookstore even with a teacher discount. I would have bought more if they had more stock.

Lemonade War
