Clark Howard's Living Large in Lean Times: 250+ Ways to Buy Smarter, Spend Smarter, and Save Money

Unbelievable amount of tips and ways to save $!
I borrowed a copy of Clark Howard's latest book, "Living Large in Lean Times" from my local library but it is so full of useful information that I knew my allotted time of three weeks worth of borrowing it just wouldn't be enough. I took notes as I perused the book and planned on "renewing" my borrowing time for an add'l three weeks. However, my notes soon became multiple pages and there were so many spots I wanted to put an asterisk by in the book, add my own notes, etc., that I decided I needed my own copy. Very rare for me to buy a book, I almost always just borrow from the library. I found a used on Amazon (why buy new when used is available and cheaper?). I could've bought one and w/the shipping paid a certain amount, but by buying three (all used), they qualified as "free shipping" articles so I got three for the price of two! I'm keeping one for myself for Christmas and giving two to my twin sister and brother! What a deal! Clark Howard is one of my heros, saving me $ over the years and offering wonderful info and tips, I just can't say enough. I would purchase Clark Howard stock if I could!

Really a help when you need it
I gave this to my daughter in law and wasn't sure she would read it. My son said she can't put it down and is high-lighting many things and hopefully will learn from it. Money management is so important and it is so easy to getin debt and not know the principles to get out. She is young, so hopefully this will make a difference.

Good basic Clark Howard
Nothing earthshaking or new here, but still some good Clark Howard and he's always good. For anyone not familiar with his advice, this book would be a valuable starting place. It would also be an excellent gift for a new, or returning, college student. These days, college students must both be armed with solid financial knowledge, and prepared to look ahead to their financial futures. Both needs would be well served by Howard's advice here.Howard's website is also a helpful resource, but somehow, having a book right in hand to look over, think over and review is well worth it.

LIving Lean in Hard Times
I have read this book cover to cover at least three times. The book restates what Clark Howard says on his radio and television show. I realize not everyone knows about his radio and TV show, but they are both worth listening to. The book is one of my reference manuals when I need to provide advice to a client (I am a CPA) that explains in simple language how to solve a problem. Because of the simple instructions on problem solving, I have seem big smiles on many faces. Read this book if you want to find a way to budget your income and save money to buy what you really need in this tough economy.

Excellent; Typical Clark simplicity
This book is full of short simple suggestions for saving money. It is sorted into various subjects with a good index so it is easy to find something (or figure out it is not covered by the book). It finally gave me the confidence to move to VoIP and so it will pay for itself just on that. I look forward (hopefully) to version 2 with more information.Having skimmed through the book very quickly, I now want to go back and figure out more ways to save.
