I bought these to replace incandescent bulbs in our bedroom furniture "bridge" at the head of the bed. They work perfectly and are as bright as the incandescent bulbs at significantly less power consumption.However, if I replace all three the dimming function does not work properly - I have to leave one of the incandescent bulbs (out of three) to have it dim properly.I suspect that this issue is a problem with the dimmer rather than the bulb as the dimmer is vintage 1980 - which is why I still gave them five stars.

I tried a few different S11 E17 LED bulbs to replace the 25W incandescent ones used in my entertainment unit, but they either didn't fit (usually bigger and stuck out of the fixture, or too bright or too dim). The incandescent never lasted too long, so I had to replace them often and they are not cheap or easy to find. These are a perfect replacement for the original 25W incandescent, with similar color temperature and exactly the same size and looks. You can barely tell they are LEDs. Highly recommend.

I have a curio cabinet that's probably 15+ years old that I recently started putting on a timer to come on and go off at certain times of the day. After a few months of this, 2 of the 4 incandescent bulbs went on it, so was looking to finally cut over to LEDs for this. The curio cabinet has a built-in dimmer knob for it's on/off switch but it will not dim if using all 4 LED bulbs. Using 3 LEDs and one of the good incandescent bulbs, makes it work and dims. This is not fault of the bulb manufacturer but more along the lines of you need to make sure your dimmer switch/device is compatible with LEDs. Most dimmer switches have a minimum wattage, so in my case based off the age of the curio cabinet, the dimmer knob/switch most likely wasn't rated for LED use since they consume less power than the older incandescent bulbs. Adding one incandescent bulb to the mix helps bring the power consumption up and make it work. Without looking directly at the lights, its real hard to tell switch is the non LED. I'm fine with this set-up of keeping one incandescent in the mix, so will monitor the life of the LEDs and hope to get years out of them.

I have a wall unit that came with 4 40W S11 17mm intermediate base incandescent bulbs. One of those bulbs burned out and I ordered this set of 4 to replace all of them. I expected the LED bulbs to look different, so I planned to replace all the bulbs to have them look the same, and save electric at the same time.While I did replace all the bulbs as planned, I initially installed one of these LED bulbs in the socket of the burned out incandescent bulb. When the bulbs were lit they all looked essentially the same! These bulbs look near identical to the 40W incandescent bulbs. They had the same color temperature, the same brightness, and the LED strips look close enough to a filament that you don't notice. They were surprisingly similar. They were about as close a match as you could get. You could easily mix these with incandescent bulbs without them looking odd or different. Yes, it is better to replace them all and get better power efficiency. If you have any apprehension of switching to these, they look the same. I don't know how long they will last, but theoretically they should last a very long time.

4W Brightness is good although not high intensity. A decent alternative to a high intensity bulb.

It doesn’t dim properly in my Stickley display cabinet, doesn’t dim properly in my microwave (bulbs flicker), I am wondering in what application and with which dimmer are these bulbs dimmable? It says dimmable in the Amazon ad. You know how you can usually look at the bulb base or glass for designated volts-watts-lumens information… not on these bulbs, nothing! My package had been previously opened - likely they did not meet the desired dimmable operation for someone else. If you are looking at this bulb in a non dimmable use then YES they will work! For how long I have no idea. I am not returning them. Why? Because I don’t want the next person who gets these bulbs to go through returning them because they were “used”. Took a while to find a lamp that was the perfect fit for my mother-in-law's heirloom memory cabinet. To find a fit in LED was not expected. It fit perfect, gives a crystal clear light through the glass shelves. She is over 90 years old now and is returning to her chair near the cabinet to look at all the great memories this lamp returned to her. Very cool.A great lamp and quality.
