Bought this for a 2016 HP Pavilion I had used as desktop replacement for about 2.5 years never being unplugged on 24 x 7 obviously destroyed the battery . This appear to be functional equivalent to original and has lasted 2-2.5 hours between charges while surfing the web U Tube casting to TV etc. Fairly easy to install if you have ever worked on laptops- been rebuilding the since the 90's the OLD IBM StinkPads Compaq's pretty straight forward just take your time opening the case. Pleased

Other than the two letters "HP" missing from this battery, everything is identical.Install did not require any modifications or adjustments. Battery fit exactly into it place and screws and screw holes lined right up.I do own plastic removal tool, to remove motherboard from base, which makes removal easier with no damage to plastic surfaces. You could use a very small, thin, flat blade screwdriver.I did 4 complete charge and discharge of new battery, powered down and rebooted, got reading of 100% charge. Since then I've had no issues running on battery and getting 100% full charge. The one time I checked, I got about 3.5 to 4 hours run time, before computer shut down.I'd also like to mention that included in the box from "CPY", was a simple to understand and brief statement of their return and warranty policy. It was in standard print, easily read, and left no question of their coverage.For those not afraid to go where we are not supposed to go , this is an easy and affordable fix. By doing this I've extended the use of this 3 year old laptop, for possibly another 3 years. That's money in my pocket. I didn't have to pay a business to purchase and replace the battery, nor did I have to go out and buy a new laptop.I strongly recommend this company, CPY, and their battery.

I bought this battery as a replacement for my HP Pavilion 15-au018wm. It is 100% compatible. I didn’t install it myself since I don’t have the tools or the knowledge (and I’m scared to damage something). After using it for a good two weeks here are my thoughts:I did a little testing where I let it fully charge then unplug the laptop and started my timer. I kept working as usual, mostly on Photoshop and the battery lasted about 1 hour and 45 minutes- 2 hours tops. When left unattended, the battery lasted almost 3 hours and 45 minutes.Obviously since this is a generic replacement battery, I wasn’t expecting it to last as much as my original one but hey, 2 hours is a good time for me; even more so comparing to the minute it lasted when unplugged.I attached a pic where you can see both batteries: hp original on the left, this one on the right.Conclusion: it works perfectly for me, so far! I’ll update this review If anything changes

Once I found out how to get to my laptop battery via a YouTube link, it wasn't any problem at all, to install a new battery.

This after-market battery appears to be exactly like my HP OEM original. It fit perfectly and came half-charged. After first depleting it to 20% and fully charging it the battery appeared during its first use cycle to have over doubled the amount of energy storage of my old battery. After several 90% to 20% charge/discharge cycles the duration has increased to 3 to 4 times my old battery (5 to 6+ hours, single open tab, text mode reading online). Clearly the battery has improved its storage capacity after several charge/discharge cycles. The old battery was 3 years old, swollen and clearly about to fail when I replaced it. This new one was about 40% of the price of an HP OEM battery so the value is clear if it continues to perform as well as it has so far. I am pleased and would re-purchase. Al S in South Carolina

This is the second battery I've replaced in my HP computer that I've had for about 4 years. The previous replacement battery lasted a couple of months beyond its 1 year warranty, which was a big disappointment. As shown in the attached picture, the reason it had to be replaced was due to battery bulge. I'm hoping that I have much better success with this CPY battery. It came very well packaged and it appears to be very well made. Only time will tell about its reliability. My 2 star rating for "Easy to install" has absolutely nothing to do with the battery. That is totally a function of the HP design. As you may know, to install the battery, the computer has to be disassembled, which is not a trivial task.

Had a hp with a dead battery to one with 2 1/2 hours of portable runtime.

I've tried computer repair to replace battery for my aging laptop which is not detachable. It cost me $130 and the battery failed within a year. I unscrewed the backing from unwarrantied laptop, ordered $30 battery, received next day, installed it and it works perfectly.
