I have a 2011 520d F11 Touring with halogen headlights, shortly after buying the car the idrive system popped up with a 'Side/Daytime lights fault', turns out when i test drove the car the switch was in the off position which didn't trigger the code, and as soon as i turned the headlights on for the first time, the code pinged straight up.Anyway, i thought I'd take a punt on this to save a few quid over the genuine part, and I'm glad to say 2 weeks on that that it's still working as it should.Fitting the part was very easy, mine was on the drivers side, and fitted in 10 mins. Firstly i turned the wheel all the way counter clockwise, then there's 2x 8mm bolts to undo which hold an access panel on for the headlight, remove this panel and you will see the module straight in front, its held in with 2 small t20 screws i believe, you will need a very short t20 bit to get to the left hand one but they are not very tight. The new module just slots right in, and should work straight away.Update exactly 3 months after this review, still working perfect.

I have a 2011 BMW 520d (F10) with halogen lights. I had 2x faults showing, sidelight and vertical aim. After diagnosing the problem on the internet, I ordered 2 of these to replace the faulty ones. I also looked at how to fit and found a video on youtube that suggests removing the wheels and stripping out the wheel arch liners. I took mine to a local garage, put it up on the ramp and he was able to access the modules through the same hatch as you would access for a bulb change. As soon as you open the hatch they are right in front of you. One of the retaining screws is a little difficult to get at, but both modules were changed in 30 minutes without the need for removing the wheels or liners. He only charged me £20 for fitting them! They are also plug and play. No requirement for clearing the faults using diagnostics, the faults had disappeared as soon as the ignition was on following the change. I changed both but the drivers side was the only one showing corrosion inside the socket after removal. I have kept the old nearside as a spare. You may only need to change one of them, but at this price I decided to play safe.These simply work at a fraction of the cost you would be charged by BMW. All in all, a good product that works.

The item was fitted to the vehicle and resulted in a separate fault with the indicators which didn’t exist previously. Cost me to get the garage to fit and now need to pay again to have it swapped

Installed it through the flap, didn't have to take out the tyre or remove the lining, worked without any hassle. Happy purchase.

Does exactly as its supposed to and good value.

Wasn't compatible with my 2010 F11. Slight difference in part of the number. Not their fault though!Had get an alternative from that bay place

Empiezo por decir que lo he colocado y funciona perfectamente por lo menos en la semana que lo llevo puesto. Y ahora paso a contaros la historia para justificar mis 5 estrellas. Hace un año dejo de funcionar mi aro de luz en un bmw 520d f11 2011, como no tengo ni idea de mecánica l o lleve a un taller y me dieron un presupuesto de 600€ y me quede helado, así que lo deje sin arreglar. Con el paso del tiempo empecé a buscar en internet como se podía arreglar y llegue al enlace de Amazon de esta pieza y al ver las opiniones positivas lo compre. Un apunte : lo compre sin saber ni siquiera donde se colocaba, en internet no encontraba nada, ni si solo era esta pieza. La semana pasada con mucho miedo y tras explorar el coche encontré su ubicación lo coloque y eureka funciono a la primera y el aviso de error del coche desapareció. No se cuando durara pero por ahora estoy contentísimo.COLOCACION: la pieza esta debajo justo de la tapa que da acceso a la luz de cruce, tiene dos tornillos torx y sacarlo es un poco complicado pero se puede sin desmotar nada. Se accede por el paso de rueda quitando la tapa de plástico con dos tornillos de estrella. Esto es todo, esta ultima explicación es un poco rollo pero hubiera agradecido que alguien me lo indicara en us momento.

Finalmente ho risolto un problema che mi assillava da mesi : errore regolazione assetto fari e luce di posizione non funzionante. In BMW mi avevano chiesto oltre 400 euro per risolverlo mentre con soli 44 euro ho risolto. Prodotto perfettamente funzionante. Installato su bmw f10 con fari alogeni
