Saved my impulsive color job
Full disclaimer I used this with Demi permanent hair color so I’m not sure how it would work for semi permanent. I did my hair 3vv and it pulled SUPER PURPLE when I was hoping for just a purple undertone. I didn’t think about the fact it would be much more vivid on my caramel highlights. I’m not ashamed to say I’m a beige kind of girl. I HATED my hair the second I got out of the shower. You know the deep sinking stomach feeling? Yeah, I wanted to cry. I was going to do start washing it with clarifying shampoo until I thought a medium golden brown would cover it but then I found this. I got it in the mail today and put it on for 2 hours. I mixed in a pump of head and shoulders like another review suggested and massaged two packs (I have long hair) into my damp hair over the tub. The shampoo definitely helped me cover everything super easily. I used my own deep conditioner after and it’s like nothing ever happened. Which is crazy because as I watched water run down the drain all I saw was a brown foam so I was thinking I didn’t leave it on long enough. I dried and styled me hair and it doesn’t feel damaged at all. This saved me!

worked on demi-permanent dye
I used to color my own hair until a few years ago and did a pretty great job. I got impatient in-between salon visits recently and attempted to do my own highlights with a medium blonde demi-permanent box dye. Guess I'm out of practice - it came out horribly streaky. I ordered this decolorizer to hopefully remedy the situation before I see (and get scolded by) my stylist. It works! It actually seems to have lifted many years of color out of my hair. I think this is my hair in its most natural/virgin state that I've seen in about 25 years. I used this almost as directed - only change was that I used it on unwashed hair. (And I have not tried the conditioner yet, as I don't plan on re-dying myself.) The crystals were a little hard to fully dissolve in water, but it still worked really well. Given the effectiveness and the low price (especially compared to other products that claim to do the same), I'd recommend this for fixing coloring oopsies

Lifts Blue Hair Dye
Blue is the hardest color to get out so I didn’t have high expectations of this product.I dyed my hair with two different Iroiro brand blue dyes back in October and aside from grow out my hair has hardly faded. I’m trying to go back ice blonde, so I figured I would give this a try prior to bleaching my hair.Like other reviews have stated, this product stinks like a mix of wet dog or mildew. I followed the instructions and only needed one packet to cover my head. I didn’t want to sleep in it, so I put it in a processing cap and left it in 8 hours during the day, if you have time I recommend that instead. There was some minor itching but no major burning or anything like that.I rinsed and shampooed my hair three times and watched it lift out the color. It wasn’t a huge amount, but again my hair is blue so it wasn’t more than expected. It took away the greenish blue towards my roots and lightened up the ends quite a bit.I bought 3 packs so I am going to try again just to see if I can lift a little more pre-bleach.Overall I would recommend trying this product if you’re having difficulty getting your color out.

Gentle and does lift color but expect to do it multiple times
This Color X-Change Phase-Out Gentle Dye Decolorizer + Intensive Hair Mask is gentle and does lift color but expect to do it multiple times for old or stubborn, semi-permanent color. You get two, small, packets. One is the color lifter and one is an intense conditioning mask. The instructions say to slowly mix the contents of the color lifter into a non-metallic bowl containing 4oz of very warm water. It's a powder and it does clump so it takes a while to mix it all up and get rid of the clumps. As you mix, it turns into a slick, somewhat thick, gel that feels a lot like aloe vera gel. Then apply it to freshly washed and towel dried hair. One packet was enough to cover my hair, which is past my shoulders. Then cover your head with a processing cap or shower cap. You can even use a plastic bag and clip it in place. Then leave the product on your head overnight and shampoo put in the morning. Apply the mask right away or after applying new color, if you choose. So I am transitioning to grey hair. For the past year, I have only been using semi-permanent hair color while allowing the permanent hair color to grow out. Now that all of the permanent color has been cut off, I am ready to get rid of the semi-permanent color. This is easier said than done.I have already treated it 3 times with a home made mixture of powdered, Vitamin Chttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000701NUO/ and generic, Head & Shoulders dandruff shampoo. I found many people recommending this on the internet so I tried it. You just mix it up and apply to freshly washed hair and leave it on for an hour or so before rinsing out. It definitely lifts the color but not completely. Because this doesn't contain bleach, it's very gentle and my hair felt completely normal after using this mixture but it's such a slow process. After 3 treatments, the color is for sure much lighter and it's blending better with my grey roots but I was hoping this product would speed up the process. This product also uses Vitamin C to lift color. While I left it on overnight, it didn't seem to lift color any faster than my home made mixture. The color was lighter so it definitely worked but no better than the other stuff. It didn't hurt my hair at all, although it felt a bit drier than before but a plain conditioner restored it completely. It didn't burn my scalp but leaving it on overnight did make my scalp the tiniest bit sensitive. Not enough for me to balk at using this again, though. It does smell a bit while it's on your head and it's not a pleasant smell but it's not strong or particularly bad. It rinses out completely, though, when you shampoo out this product.I do notice on the internet that stylists that use Vitamin C to lift color apply heat while it is on the head so I will try that next time. Based on the degree of lightening I am getting each go round, I think it will take 5-10 more treatments to remove most of my semi-permanent color. Maybe this process is faster with hair that has only one application of semi-permanent dye to remove? In conclusion, I would say that this is very gentle on your hair and it does work but it won't miraculously remove all of your color in one go round on most women. But the price is reasonable enough. If you have thick, very long hair, you may need two packets. At that point, it's less expensive to just buy the powdered Vitamin C and some cheap dandruff shampoo because you will get the same results. I have another packet of this and I will use it again, also applying heat to my head. I will update if that enhances the color lifting.
