must live with loss of their loved ones and physical as well as emotional damage the ...
as a runner it was inspiring and heartbreaking. I ran Boston when I turned 50, a kind of milestone for any average runner and when I heard about the bombing I was so shocked. It also brought home the horrors of what blind hatred and extremism can do. The courage of the people who were injured and the people who came to their aid was extraordinary. I hope the trial comes and goes without fanfare and the second perpetrator is convicted and jailed for the rest of his life. Others, because of his and his brother's actions, must live with loss of their loved ones and physical as well as emotional damage the rest of theirs.

The book reads like fiction, with minute-by-minute portraits of the race officials
Long Mile Home is a richly detailed account of the Boston Marathon Bombing of 2013, written by two of the Pulitzer-Prize winning team of reporters from The Boston Globe. The book reads like fiction, with minute-by-minute portraits of the race officials, the bombers and the victims. I have recommended this book to numerous friends; I have no hesitation in rating it 5 stars! (If it holds any disappointment, it is in the lack of information about the young widow of the older bomber, but I presume she was not disposed to give interviews. The authors are meticulous in their documentation of facts and refrain from speculation when information is lacking. I appreciate that!)

but worthy of being on the best seller list
A book which was found in the Dollar Store, but worthy of being on the best seller list. This book was so well written with so much passion one felt that you were actually there at that scene when those bombs went off, you felt the pains,, the felt the lose of life, you were there for the search of those two terrorists.

A complete travel through a difficult time
I found this book to be well researched and well written. The technique of following individuals through the day and then for almost a year afterward made this presentation much more personal. Having grown up a short distance from where the turn is taken in Newton off Washington Street on to Commonwealth Avenue, the book brought back memories of being at the corner. Old timers may remember Jane's luncheonette being at that corner. Let us hope that there never has to be another book written like this.

Boston Marathon bombing
This is a definitive, well-written book about the 2013 bombing near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. It was written by two Boston Globe reporters with the input and help of many others. The book introduces many of those injured and killed, first-responders and the perpetrators. It discusses the marathon itself, the chaos and aftermath of the explosions and the eventually successful search for the perps. The book is highly recommended for anyone interested in Boston, true crime, running or just reading a good, if terrible, story.

so touching
This was an in depth, well researched book. That was such a shocking and very sad event. So many lives changed forever and the loss of lives I was so sad for the families who lost their precious loved ones. Plus it is impossible to understand what was in the minds of the killers. I learned many details regarding the events that I didn't know and was very touched with how all the injured victims and their families are fighting back to rebuild their lives.

very detailed
I found this very detailed book about the Boston marathon shooting in 2013 to be interesting but unlike most of the other reviewers I had a hard time getting through it . Some parts were really interesting and some were just superfluous details I didn't find interesting. If you want a very thorough story ...read this book!

Well done book.
I write this on the day of the race one year after the terrorist attacks of the Boston Marathon. This story although not fully told as of this time, is a well written and researched book into the effects that terrorism has all of our American society. The authors have done a wonderful job of connecting the reader to the victims of this act. We learn firsthand of the struggles, the courage, and the intestinal fortitude of America citizens.
