Excellent! Super easy to use and a great price too
Having recently had to buy a new laptop I found most do not come with a built in CD drive anymore, so I needed to get an external one for playing CD's DVDs and also buringing/ripping my own CDs, and I saw this one on offer. I haven't used this brand before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but honestly I'm really impressed! The item itself is small, slim and lightweight but pretty surdy, and the connecting cable that is attached tucks neatly away underneath when you are not using it, so it;s easy to take with you and doesn't take up much room. I keep mine in my laptop bag. It doesn't say so on the box but it works perfectly with Windows 11 too. You literally plug it in via USB cable (there is an extra cable so you can use both types of USB port) and it starts to work right away (the correct screen comes on for what you are using it for). I've tested it out playing my discs but also burning and ripping CDs and it's super easy to use, it does the job quickly, records and plays perfectly and the sound quality is excellent. I'm not great with tech usually to be fair but using this was no problem for me. I would definitely buy again and happily recommend if you are looking for a no fuss great quality external CD drive.

Ripping CDs with ease and speed.
I have used this for ripping CDs and it has done a great job. Perfect .wav copies in no time at all. Also played CDs on it through my laptop and headphones and sound is good. Whilst the tray is fairly flimsy, with care it does a solid job. The ability to tidy the connecting cable underneath the machine is a nice feature and the separate extra cable to plug into a power source is very useful should you need a bit more power. Was glad I purchased this machine and at such a good price, I recommend it.

True plug and play - works with win 11 laptop
This is my initial review, based solely on using it for playing comercially made movie dvds and music cds - have not yet tried to write to a disc with it, so cannot comment on write speed. Will update, if I have issues with that later on down the line. It was recognised immediately by my win 11 laptop, and worked perfectly for those two types of uses. Playablility excellant. Extra software only needed for dvd movie playback. (Which i had already installed on the laptop.) The attached lead is stupidly short, and my laptop is on a stand, which puts its rear (where the usb ports are) quite high in the air, so initially this drive was dangling in mid air. Not good long term for either it, or my poor usb port. Luckily I could solve that with a usb extender., and it still works just as well attached to that. I did not need to use the included power cable as an extra power source which is just as well, as that is stupidly short too, and I would not have been able to use it. These short leads (especially the attached usb) are my reason for dropping a star. Build quality seems reasonable, at this point. Only time will tell. Its a nice, slim, lightweight, good looking drive. The weak point may be the tray as that seems a little flimsy compared to others I have used. The open/close button worked fine. So far, am happy with it.

Really easy to use
We were not sure whether to buy this item as we had not heard of the manufacturer but with hindsight we are pleased that we went ahead. We have lots of old DVD's and CD's but were not able to access their content until now. The device is compact, the quality is good and although it comes with instructions it basically plugs into the usb-A socket of a laptop and that's about it! We like that it doesn't need a separate source of power and little touches like how the usb cable folds away neatly into the back of the device when not in use, very clever. We have not tried copying files to a DVD, no doubt it will do so but also this is 2026 and there are better options for saving files than using DVD's.

Fast, reliable, well built
I regularly buy CDs and then rip them to FLAC format, but my old CD player was very slow since I migrated to Linux Mint. I bought this CD player to see if there was a difference. I'm glad to say that there is an enormous positive difference. I ripped the same CD using both my old CD player and this Rioddas model, and to ensure it was a fair test, they were both plugged into the same USB port. When I finished the test with one, I swapped the drives and then rebooted the computer to ensure there were no residual incompatible drivers lingering. The old CD player took 15 minutes to rip the whole CD. The Rioddas took 7 minutes, which is a significant difference. There were no errors during the reading process (the software I use reports all errors). The old player managed to get up to 3.5 times nominal read speed, whilst the Rioddas got up to 8.5 times, again, significantly faster. When I get a box-set of CDs, it will no longer be an all-day task to rip them. The drive looks and feels like a quality machine, and the eject works properly through software as well as the button. The simple USB-A connector enables connectivity to almost every computer, and it is light enough to put in a backpack so you can use it down at the local coffee house or library. Not tested: 1. DVD reading 2. CD and DVD writing With the above two caveats, I would recommend this drive.

Does the job
It appears to work OK. Marked it down because the cable is ridiculously short and used USB-A (I should have seen that before purchasing, but kind of old tech now). I suggest buying and extension chord. Doesn't seem very fast, but it gets there (subjective impression on how long it takes to import a music file). I'd give it 3.5 if I could, but not quite a 4.
