I can't measure the longevity of this part, but it does seem more substantial than the light switches that I ordered at the same time from the same supplier. The action is smooth. Installation is easy enough if you follow the numbers. The colors did not match my fan's wiring at all, but it was a simple matter of cutting the wires one at a time and matching up the marks L,1,2,3. Do yourself a favor and take a picture of where everything is stuffed into place before you start pulling things apart. Unlike the light switch, the fan switch is attached to a control box that you are going to have to pull out of its nest to gain access to the wires and it is not easy to put it back into place if you didn't make a note of how the box and wires were packed into the housing. I give this advice because I didn't look first and had to open up one of my other fans to see where everything went... Duh.

When your pull chain stops clicking it's a simple fix. I found what I needed right here and got it quick. Easy installation. Simple repair.

Fit well works well. Hopefully this will last longer than the original part. Be careful to pull chain straight down or that plastic piece breaks easily
