QUICKFIX DC PLUGS: Don't throw away your original power adapter just because the dc connector or wire near the connector has damaged. This product is designed to repair those faulty pin or cable adapters. First look out for physical damage. Sometime damage to internal wires appears as a bulge in cable. If beeping sound coming from inside power brick, it could be sign of internal wire short circuit. Other symptom of broken wire is that charging light only turns on when you move plug cable in a certain direction. Before replacing the connector make sure the connector fits into your input device. Make sure you know the correct size of your old adapter. Most power adapters have a large choke mounted near the connector designed to stop the RF interference passing through the cable. If choke is too close to the connector you can cut it off. This will not affect the normal operation. Check the wires of the old plug cable to make sure you get the polarity right. Basic information and printed instructions will also be provided with kit. Any question about power capacity or connector size etc please ask before your purchase or send model number of your device. Do not buy cheap low quality power adapters, those are not reliable and often get over heated and die quickly.

Quickfix DC Plug (Sony) [But also Samsung]
Excellent product - Fits the bill perfectly.My monitor has 2 HDMI inputs one above the other and also a power supply connector with a straight in wire/adapter. I wanted to wall mount the monitor though as close to the wall as possible so these straight-in connectors were holding me back. Finding adaptors for the HDMI connectors was easy - these needed to adapt to 90' or 270' degree angles to take wires from either above or below but the the straight in power connector was another issue.Saw this item when searching around and occurred to me that by adapting the power cable from straight in to offset/90' degree ange it would shave several inches off the needed room behind the monitor. Bought this item to adapt wiring and excellent result - a close fit monitor to my wall was easy. Product will obviously 'quick fix' as intended a faulty power plug but the product as explained above does have other uses/opportunities.Suggestion to supplier - Offer two versions with wire length from connector longer than current. For my project I could have done with the length being 2m so I could run it behind wall and out through the monitor bracket on the wall. Just a thought. Excellent fix through. Oh and by the way my monitor was a Samsung and they use the same power connector!Colin.

Works Great
My Sony VAIO's power cable was damaged at the DC plug so ordered this. The 6.5mm*4.4mm is a less common size so I was glad to find this. The new plug works great and I'd recommend it.This product works particularly well if you don't want the hassle of soldering or applying heat-shrink at the connection. The connection box included with this product connects your existing adapter to the replacement plug safely and neatly.The instructions included are not perfect, but clear enough. The important thing is you correctly match up the polarity of the cables. For my Sony VAIO's power cable: the outer conductor was negative, the inner conductor was positive, and there was no third identification wire.

The product seems well made and with just a bit of care and tech savvy the old plug is replaced with the new. Take care to carefully look at the instructions.

Great product.
Shame on Samsung for selling a TV that is wall mountable, but requires a minimum of 50mm for the power plug to fit in the back. Ludicrous to say the least if the TV is to be flat against the wall. (They were also quite unhelpful and couldn't even tell me what size the power plug was - there are only around 30 different sizes to choose from and this particular one appears to be quite rare!!!).With the help of a digital vernier and Quickfix DC Plugs I managed to find the correct adaptor for fitting a shallow reach right angled plug and ordered one of these. It arrived very promptly and proved to be excellent. A quick snip of the 'fitted' plug and a check with a meter to ensure correct polarity and my transformer was linked to a plug that fitted without pushing the TV off the wall.Quickfix DC Plugs supplied a product that I couldn't find anywhere else and delivered it very quickly, sorting my problem once and for all.BRILLIANT. . . . . .
