Works well on perfectly clean and flat surfaces
It's a little amusing to see that a large percentage of reviews say the suction cup handle is great, sticks firm, and a much smaller number say its awful, falls off in seconds, don't buy, your mother will do herself an terrible injury and you are responsible. Buy this other brand. So you look at the other brand's reviews and you see the exact same pattern: great; fantastic; wonderful; this handle broke my elderly aunt's leg. Then you look at the pictures and it's the exact same handle with a different name. The simple fact is that, manufacturing faults aside, a lot of the negative reviews don't understand suction cup physics. It has either been incorrectly installed onto a suitable surface, solvable, or incorrectly installed onto an unsuitable surface. Not solvable. The suction cup needs to create a vacuum with the surface it is being attached to. That surface needs to be spotless and perfectly flat. Lots of bathroom tiles look flat but have barely noticeable slight waves in the surface... may be unsuitable. Wash, dry with a lint free cloth. Same with the cup inner surface. Slightly moisten the cup. Not so wet it slips. Push the cup onto the surface and apply pressure hard for 15-20 seconds. Lock the cup down. If it falls off something broke the vacuum seal. Dust, a surface imperfection, soap scum. Clean, try again, try a different surface, a different tile. I have a suction cup toilet roll holder. It falls off every tile except one where it has happily stuck for a year. Same with the soap dish in the shower. It will only stick to one particular tile. So if yours falls off chances are it was a speck of dust or an uneven tile, don't blame the handle. As to this particular handle, it sticks well to suitable surfaces, falls off uneven surfaces. A pair for this price, delivered next day, is fantastic value. Buy with confidence if you have an immaculately clean and perfectly flat surface to use it on. Inspired by a YouTube video I've attached mine to a 60cm Wintex quilting ruler. Great for cutting straight lines in fabric. I see from other reviews I am not alone. And I have one left I may try in the shower if I can find another flat tile or two. Or cart it around in my overnight bag to all those hotels with over bath showers, slippery surfaces, and nothing to hold onto. And that, in fact, is what I did... my Premier Inn bathroom was temporarily equipped with one of these and it is very securely attached.

These are more of a hazard then an aid.
Suction pads release whilst bath and shower in use. This item is not at al safe.Followed instructions on installation but within minutes suction pads don’t hold their grip .To be honest they are a hazard how thy ever passed a risk assessment beats me.An accident waiting to happen

Not recommended - the suction on these handles wasn't effective at all!
I was very excited when these handles arrived; I've been struggling when showering in the bath so was looking forward to a bit of help. I followed the instructions, dampened the suction pads and placed them on a tiled wall. Approximately twenty minutes later both handles came off the wall and fell into the bath. Not one to give up easily I stuck them on again and this time they stayed put. HUZZAH!!! When I showered later and grabbed one of the handles to steady myself it swung round; only staying attached by one of the suction cups. I am extremely disappointed with this product and wish I'd spent more money on a more expensive one. Both handles are now consigned to a cupboard and they will be going to a charity shop in the near future. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Fantastic - better than I dared hope.
Bought these to provide some extra stability and confidence in the shower following my hip replacement operation. I doubted if they would be much good as there's a glass screen one side of our walk-in shower and matt tiles the other; I keep reminding myself not to trust these grab handles with my full weight. But in the event they have stuck where I put them and seem as firmly in place as the day I put them up six weeks ago. They provide exactly the reassurance I needed and I consider them an absolute bargain at the price.

Useful handles to provide extra support but take care fitting
I bought these to help assist getting in and out of a bath. One stuck really well to both the bath and the wall tiles. However the sucker on the other was slightly distorted and sometimes slipped when under pressure - this could be dangerous when someone is relying on the handle for support. I suspect the reason why there are differing opinions of the product is that there are some manufacturing defects in the suckers which prevent a perfect grip. Make sure you stick them on carefully and test them first, once properly stuck they have proved very effective.

Good support getting in and out of the shower
I bought this as temporary support getting in and out of the shower after a hip replacement op.So easy to install and exactly what I needed without spending a fortune or having legacy aids littering the bathroom. Would recommend this product for getting in and out of a shower regardless of age or ability.

Please read the review.
You may all laugh but I have bought this item for patchwork sewing. It grips my plastic ruler providing me with more stability when cutting material.Unable therefore to say whether it does the job it is intended for.Arrived on time and as stated.

Lasted 4 months
One of these stopped gripping and it would not re stick. Taking it off and looking at it one sucker mount has broken. It was OK before then. Makes me wonder if people that give good reviews have ones that haven't snapped and those saying it doesn't work have the same breakage that I do. The sucker is still holding on and you can't see the broken part unless you look inside.More junk for the bin.
