Out of the box no adjustments made, performs like a champ.
After using an index release for years I finally switch to a thumb release. Since I was not sure if I would like the thump release I thought I would go middle of the road expense wise. What I notice right off the bat was that the thumb release was smooth and anchoring for my shot was a bit better. My groupings were tighter and my release more consistent. This was a great thumb release for the price and I will see how I perform over the next few weeks.

Great bow release
I love this thing. I bought it because I got sick of my wrist release, which: gets caught on everything, makes noise when banging against things, varies in length each time I put it on, inhibits wearing gloves, interferes with my jacket, makes it hard to reach into my pockets or backpack etc. I LIKE this release because it fits my hand nicely, the tip swivels 360 degrees. The knurled trigger has positive grip and is out of the way until you need it. This release is a "jaw" type. There are also "hook" types. The jaw is nice because it's spring loaded and is normally closed. This allows you to leave it hooked on your bow if you like. Never used a hook type. I "read" that they're more accurate. The only thing I don't like about it is, it gets COLD. Can't leave it attached to the bowstring when it's cold out. That's because it's aluminum. I would't opt for plastic though. I'm old school and like my metal. I just keep it in my pocket.

Flawless, but only for 1 year!
This worked flawlessly for a full offseason and hunting season. Then, I put it away for a couple months. When I took it back out, something changed. It felt as if one side of the caliper was opening while the other side delayed. It was causing a delayed release and the arrows were flying left. This did not happen on each shot, but randomly. I contacted Feradyne for some help and they rejected the request without any explanation or offer of help. That was frustrating. Like I said, this was well worth the price for 1 year's use. Now, I have to see if I can fix it, or buy something else.

For all those experiencing misfires with this release aid....
I read all the reviews prior to purchasing this release aid. Many of the reviews lead you to believe that the quality control may be lacking, causing the release aid to misfire. Welp, when I received mine, I read all the instructions - set the tension properly (instructions were included) for a 70-pound draw weight on my compound bow. The release aid functioned perfectly...for the first 20 or 25 arrows. And then I had my first misfire - the release aid let the arrow fly with the bow half-drawn. At first, I thought maybe that I accidentally hit the trigger during the draw. So I tried again, and another misfire. Each successive arrow after that misfired more and more quickly. So I took the release aid apart, to try to diagnose the problem. I didn't find anything, so I reassembled the release aid. It functioned flawlessly again for the first 20 to 25 arrows, and then the same thing started to happen again. For those of you who are experience misfires...here is what is happening. Per the instructions, to set the tension, you pull the trigger to the rear and expose the screw in the back. Then turn clockwise or counter-clockwise until you reach your desired max tension. Tighten the screw back up, and you're in business. What the instructions do NOT tell you is that each time you attach the swivel head to your D-loop, the 360-degree rotating head turns. Each successive time your clip on to your D-loop, the swivel head turns again. Shoot enough times, and the swivel head has turned so many times that the jaws WILL loosen up. And then you'll have a misfire. Once you realize that this is what is happening, it becomes second nature to just check it / turn the head with your fingers after each shot. You really don't need to do it after every shot, but it'll become a force of habit to check. So if you're currently experiencing misfires with this release aid - pick up your release aid, do not depress the trigger or anything else, use your fingers to turn the swivel head clockwise until it stops. No need to loosen any screws or anything else. If you do that before you shoot, it will work flawlessly, reliably, and you'll never have another misfire. If yours seems to be noisy, a little WD-40 will fix that right up. I did not receive anything from the manufacturer for this review. Tru-Fire should really put this in their instructions - it would help out their reviews immeasurably. Hope this helps someone. Be safe out there.

You’re gonna lose some arrows
I absolutely loved this release for the first year. No issues, great release. Getting ready for the fall season of the second year with this release. Twang! - last arrow of 5 practice arrows goes “worm burning” into my yard. Thought - that was weird, must’ve bumped the thumb barrel. Go get all my arrows - minus one. First shot next round - twang! - there goes another into the turf. After inspecting the release- jaws no longer closed. Went inside and took everything apart - reassembled. It currently works, but the jaws are loose and I have no confidence relying on this release for the 1 shot I may get all season. Do not buy, you may love it at first - but it will cost you in the long run… either in arrows or (even worse) during the shot that really counts.

So far so good
Shot with this release for the first time today. Put about 30-40 arrows down range with it. Took a few different adjustments to get it to where I’m getting a surprise shot with every release. My groupings are already way tighter. I also like how it grips in my hand, allows for a good pull when drawing. This is my first thumb release and I’ve enjoyed it alot so far. For people complaining about misfires, they probably just don’t know what they’re doing. It’s pretty self explanatory just make sure you tighten the set screws nice and good. Read the instructions and make very little adjustments at a time. Initial set up can be a little tricky but once you get it dialed in close enough it’s easy to get it where you want it.

It’s worth it, and it’s accurate
It is super smooth, the one I got came in it’s original packaging brand new, it was ready to shoot as soon as I started, I was using it on my 70lbs Vital Impact compound bow, and at 30 yards it was shooting absolutely amazing, I see no problems with this release at all, and I would compare it to any of my Scott archery releases or. My other tru-fire and tru-ball releases, this is way better than the wolf outdoors hand held release that I got when I started shooting as well, it is really worth the money. I’ve had it for only a week but I’ve shot it every day for hours and never had a single issue, I have to say this is one of the best releases I’ve ever used, and it’s the best hand held release I own

Great for the price, better than expected
Bought this because I had a trufire synapse and sold it, went back to trigger release, decided I liked having the release already on bow when in stand deer hunting so wanted to get another thumb release, seen this on, watched the reviews, seen that this one was on sale so I bought it. I myself actually like it better that the trufire synapse that i had. Mainly because the way it swivels where it hooks onto the d-loop, for me it makes it more accurate. It releases smooth and all around great release.
