The Vilta is so lovely to hold very sturdy and the settings and setting up was so easy I had never used one of these before and I was able to setup in mins. I would recommend this for sure and if I could give it 10 stars I would... Don't hesitate to buy you won't regret an amazing product and so much fun to use.. Review: Great item but does have flaws - I purchased this gimbal ready for our family mid week break in Wales next month and thought I'd purchase early so that I could get to grips with the functions and controls. I watched numerous hours of online reviews first and decided to go with this gimbal as it has no limit on the pan. It can go a full 360 degrees and more where as others lock out at 330. Additionally the body of this feels much more sturdy thay the plastic body of other devices. It comes with a soft shell case which is great for transporting. The gimbal helps get nice stead footage and also has a function that allows you to stand your phone down on a tripod and set it to shoot an automated panoramic shot of either 180 or 330 degrees and also some shows of 3x3 of 3x5. Once you are set up, press shoot and the motors automatically manouver the phone and takes a number of photos before stitching them together. The results are great however the 180 and 330 pano shots do not interact with the vr style pano shots you can take on your phones inbuilt function which means you can scroll through and when you upload to Facebook it just appears as a standard photo which means you can't really get a good look. Using android it also logs the videos in my galary with a length of 0 seconds which means I can't upload to Facebook without doing so via the freevision app. Back to some positives.. You can create great timelapse videos. Either keeping your device in a still position or using the inbuilt motors to move your device between pre set points whilst continously taking photos to make in to a timelapse video.. Face/ object tracking is also a great feature if you can't to focus more on your movements as opposed to staring at the screen keeping the object in shot. Imi found this a bit tricky when filming my son as he either moved too fast and the tracking couldn't keep up, or if he turned around it often lost him.. However it does automatically lock back on when it again recognises the object. I was really looking forward to using this on holiday. Unfortunately after using just a handful of times, the hoystick button snapped in half and fell off. I was a bit dissapointed with this given the sturdyness of the device in general. I've been trying to arrange a return through freevision for 5 days now with quick responses from their support team but no response to the specialist support in Europe they then pointed me to to help arrange the retuen/ repair. As such I have arranged a refund through desertcart.. I will consider purchasing again but will be awaiting a response from freevision to see whether any updates are coming to their app which allows better sharing with the likes of Facebook for videos and panoramic shots.

Too many "fails" to be considered viable
CONS: - In vertical mode the gimbal can only shoot straight ahead (not up or down) - main joystick button split in half after one month of useage (four times) - APP: Video file export to camera roll fails often (26 out of 31 larger video files), had to re-export individually, praying that it will work. Hours spent! - APP: Exported videos are very buggy to further export to mac, not sure why - APP: After deleting the app, there are 8GB "other items" on my phone, the same size as the videos in the app container, that are just now hogging my iphone space. Nice, thanks you broke my iphone. - APP: remote control features are rendered useless, by the buggy export situation. PRO: - somewhat acceptable in horizontal mode, stabilisation quality of the hardware is great, but would only use the iPhone camera app and forgo all the remote control features

Very good and Android smartphones ideal.
The first one that Android smartphones have been fault of and have many updates.

Great, but check the motor noise
Its great, one of the best, features, battery, use, software, but, mine had noisy motors. You can hear it if you press ear to them, this travels down the arm to the phone, its mic picks up the noise, like a low buzz. I spoke with FV and they said its rare, but I ended up swapping for there new SE version (no noise)

Much better Gimbal
4 days in and constantly in use, I can't find fault with this gorgeous bit of kit, at all! Having spent a substantial amount of time with the DJI Osmo mobile 2, this wipes the floor with it. The main reason is that compared to the DJI go App (which is really buggy and awkward) the app on the Vilta-M is gorgeous, stable and a doddle to use from the start. Together with a rock solid and extremely well considered piece of hardware delivering breathtaking results, I can't recommend the Vilta-M highly enough. I'm even going to start using it at work in my larger corporate shoots, so look out steady cam ops!

Brilliant gimbal let down by a few silly cosmetic problems
First off, this is a brilliant gimbal and I've taken some stunning 4K video using it with my iPhone 6S. Although I use the free FV app for setting things up and more complicated shots I mostly use the excellent ProMovie app for the majority of my video work. However, I've had a variety of 'silly' issues with the product. The first one had a loose cover plate so it had to be returned. The case it comes with is superficially nice but is let down by some ridiculously flimsy ribbons that hold the over-shoulder strap that fall to bits almost if you look at them (see photo attached)! I've also had the joystick button (i.e. the plastic cover over the actual joystick) disintegrate twice after only an hour or two's use (see photo attached)! Freevision support has been very good and they've sent me replacement cases and new push-on buttons are on the way. Freevision tell me that the button problem is a production batch problem but considering the button cover must cost next to nothing this is really disappointing for an otherwise quality product. I've had to return the gimbal twice for replacements with Amazon - this isn't straight-forward because you have to return one and buy another rather than simply getting a replacement sent. These are really stupid cosmetic problems that Freevision need to sort out quickly as they detract from an otherwise excellent gimbal. Would I buy this gimbal again - yes! It's frustrating in the extreme to have had these issues but the gimbal performs extremely well and I love that it is relatively small, light and compact to carry around and it's a joy to use.

Joystick is fragile
Having only used the device three times, the joystick broke as I was about to use it for the fourth time. The button broke in to two pieces and fell on the floor. So, watch it. It is rather fragile. Going to have go at gluing it back together and befitting it. The mounting allowed me to keep using the device, but the button should be made of stronger stuff. Have noticed it has a tendency to stop working and needs switching off and relaunching the app a then reconnecting. Bit of a nuisance. I am using it with a Galaxy S5, which may be the problem, though.

Genial

No me cargaba
