Smoke detectors are there to save your life. They also have a lifespan of 10 years before they should be replaced. The last detectors we had were installed in the house in 1993 when it was built!These are easy to put up, two screws in the baseplate and then twist and lock the unit into place. It's really simple and even has instructions in the box. It has a burnt toast feature (you can switch it off for 10 minutes if you burn toast) and it's loud. A red light flashes every 45 seconds to tell you it is active. Test the device and you will find it wakes any hibernating grizzly.The battery life is 10 years, after which it should be replaced. Interestingly smoke detectors have 'use by' dates, always check. This one had a use by date of 10 years + 1 year so it was fresh from the factory. Incidentally, these can be found recommended on the Fire Service website.Good value for a pack of two.

I have had Fire Angel Smoke Alarms in the past, so bought these as replacements.It is very easy to install and there is no need for a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering!! The pack comes with the smoke alarm, base plate, 2No raw plugs and 2No screws.Simply punch out the 2No plastic holes in the base plate where the screws will be installed. Place the base plate on the ceiling and mark-out the screw hole locations. Drill a 5mm hole and place the raw plugs that are provided. Locate the base plate on the ceiling to match the screw hole locations and screw the base plate tight to the ceiling. Match the locator on the smoke alarm with the base plate and twist to lock into position.The built-in 10yr battery only activates once the smoke alarm is locked into position. Push the test button and if the alarm sounds, pat yourself on the back for a job well done!! The alarm is LOUD!!A well recommended product that you can trust.

Fire alarm smoke detectorExcellent replacements recommended a good choice

Bought these to replace existing smoke alarms supplied and fitted by the local fire brigade. Because they use exactly the same existing base, easy replacement - just a matter of unscrewing the existing alarms from their bases, and screwing on the replacement alarms, ie thankfully no need to remove the old bases and fit new bases, with all the decorating implications of having to do that. Thus 5 stars for ease of installation. The twin pack was offered at a reasonable price compared to other suppliers, albeit the FireAngel range isn't the cheapest around, hence 4 stars for VFM. I have awarded 2 stars for battery life as the existing alarms, on the reverse, stated "replace by the end of May 2026", which I assume means that they had a shorter life by 6 years than advised. The alarms are in my house's hall and stairway (one on the ground floor, the other on the first floor, placed there by the fire brigade). They have never suffered any smoke, fire or other damage so not sure of the reason for the battery short life span.

We have had these up since January 2019 and they have been faultless. The first smoke alarms that don't go off when the toaster is on.But this week, one of them has been going off for no reason.It's the alarm sound, not the low battery warning.We tried swapping it's location with the other one further away from the kitchen, but it's still going off multiple times a day.We keep a walking pole handy to press the reset button.We rang the tech support number that's on the back of the unit and they were great.Née unit on its way to us free of charge.Can't get better than that as we have almost had them for four years.

Made the mistake of purchasing cheaper fire alarms off Amazon, and returned them to buy these.A reassuring brand that can be relied on for your family's safety. They looks swish, are relatively inexpensive, and are easy to fit. Two small plastic tabs inside snap off, and there's a couple of tiny rawlplugs and screws included. I managed to push a screwdriver through my plasterboard ceiling, and push the rawlplugs in by hand, so didn't even have to get the drill out.I'd recommend paying the extra money to get the brand name. For the price, these are a bargain.

These need to be pressed to stop the alarm when not needed so need to keep some long tool to press large button on centre when on ceilings. These were the cheapest l could find as fire brigade no longer supplies them free. Could be five in a pack for the price. Highly recommend. They require adhesive pads bought separately to affix to ceilings. They don't come with anything to attach them. Not used tech support so cannot comment. These are still working in 2024 so still in use good battery life so far so good.

These smoke alarms are very easy to fit, and very sturdy. Has a 10 year guarantee as well. Nice price for the two, and very cheap to feel safe. Very happy. 😊
