Hosed by Amazon Prime
The Gilmour Hose deserves a five star rating as does the speedy delivery I received with the free trial of Amazon Prime. I am eighty years old and have found the weight of a high quality hose too much to tug around. The Gilmour hose has a better feel than other light-weight, kink-prone hoses I have used over the past ten years. The brass fittings especially are high quality, easy to attach and detach from other fittings.Amazon Prime speeds delivery and the sights and sounds, video and audio of the stream are outstanding. However, Amazon Prime merits only a three star rating overall only because of the difficulty I encountered in cancelling. Amazon Prime. I may have succeeded in cancelling my subscription to Amazon Prime, I don't know. Normally Amazon provides the clearest of written instructions and instant feedback to let one know if he has accomplished his goal. But in this case the instructions were muddy and there was no feedback. Amazon courteously sent me a nice email greeting me when I signed on for the free trial. Not a word when I tried to or actually cancelled. No easy one click options. Normally suspicious of "free trial money back" offers,I know enough not to call in for the free trial of "nutriceuticals" offered on the late night radio commercials which guarantee to trim twenty pounds of belly fat, regrow the hair on the top of my head or restore the sexual vigor I knew sixty years ago with a promise of "no risk, full refund in not completely satisfied." I'm old enough now to know that I'd never succeed in getting my money back. But I thought Amazon was an established and reputable retailer above such tricks who would value me as regular customer and spare me a runaround in cancelling a free trial. No luck. All I can do now is watch my credit card activity to make sure I don't get charged for Amazon. Beyond that I can only switch reading from my Kindle Keyboard to my Nook Tablet.

Works great, but certainly is not kink-less
Works great, but certainly is not kink-less. In fact, the longer Ive owned it (1-2 months), the more it seems to kink. The reason I give it 4 stars: its the only hose Ive ever owned so I have very little to base it off of, except my mother (I bought one of these for her too). Earlier in the year she bought a 10 dollar hose which brought her nightmares. Not only did it kink up right, left and center, but to unkink it felt that she was stretching or unraveling the hose in such a way that she thought it might burst open at the kink. Since buying her this hose, she's been very happy with it.This hose is solid, sort of like a snake, alive and well with its multiple layers. While it does kink, it is also very forgiving, and easily unkinked. And while its not perfect, I picture my mother with that 10 dollar hose and know that this was a great purchase for both of us.Update May 2019.I increased rating to 5 stars because we’re very pleased with the lifetime warranty. To receive another hose (free of charge) all we had to do is send a photograph of the leak in the hose and a photograph of the hose tip where it’s marked flexogen-to prove it was their hose-and they sent us a free hose. If that’s not customer satisfaction, I don’t know what is. Plus, it was really our fault it sprung a leak cause we left it in the hot sun with full water pressure in it all day long. We’ve since learned to shut off the water and release the water pressure from it when we’re done using it, and haven’t had a problem since. Price has gone up since we bought ours 3 years ago, from $22 to $28. But I’d buy it again, given the hassle free lifetime warranty.

This Hose Lasted Three Years
This hose only lasted three years of occasional use before the outer jacket tore open and the hose developed a big leak. The construction of this hose is lightweight and the outer wrapping or jacket is very thin and flimsy. To make matters worse Gilmour ignores warranty claims. I have contacted Gilmour four times for a warranty claim and all my communications have been ignored. I would not recommend any Gilmour hose.

News flash - all hoses kink up
Stick with a 5/8" hose. Gilmour used to offer a lifetime guarantee replacement for its Flex-o-gen hoses which, full disclosure, this one is not. Despite assurances this 1/2' hose won't kink, however, the ad is dead wrong. And the place where the hose rubs on the plastic hose reel is wearing quickly.

Best garden hose that I've found
After many years of hose failure after hose failure I came across Gilmour's Flexogen line of hoses. I have now purchased 3 of the "Super Duty" hoses (15ft (from Ace Hardware), 25 ft and 50 ft (from Amazon)). The first hose is several years old now and stays outside 100% of the year (in South Carolina). It has never kinked or leaked and shows no signs of wear that you'd expect from a hose left on the ground all year in the hot and humid south. The only thing I do is disconnect it from the faucet and take out the rubber ring for the winter months. In spring I rake away the leaves and put the rubber ring back in and hook it back up and run water to flush out the inevitable slug that found its way in the hose.My primary application is to run water to my soaker hose system for my raised garden beds. I divide it at multiple points and use the Flexogen hoses to connect each zone together. This works out much better than drip irrigation line and of course has the added benefit of being an actual garden hose that can be reused elsewhere. Before transitioning to the soaker hoses I have pressure regulators. This application means that during operation the hose is subject to sustained water pressure (our water pressure is higher than most areas) which in other hoses caused swelling and wore out the hoses quickly. The Flexogen hoses swell up with the water pressure but show no ill effects from it; even after years of abuse. These hoses simply can't be beat. Any other brand you will end up replacing several times before you wear one of these out. I am glad I found them.

I like the way it doesn’t get kinked
Hose was delivered fast and like the light weight and the fittings on the ends like they will last.

light Weight
My watering tractor follows the hose over my lawn, but 5/8 or 3/4 inch hose gets too hard/heavy to pull for more than 10' or so. My tractor goes about 10' or so per hour and can pull about 75' or so of this well made 1/2" hose which allows me to pick the route and give that whole area a good watering.

Good Price. Kind of Damaged.
Decent enough hose. I enjoyed the price. However, when it came sections of the hose were dented/squished so that was somewhat disappointing, but it doesn’t effect the flow of water.

Light Weight, easy to unroll.
I previously had a 5/8 inch hose and I thought the pressure would be lower. I was happy with the pressure. It is easy to maneuver to wherever I need it. It does not kink at all. Considerable less expensive than the local stores have in stock.

Quality of brass fittings impacted after some time
Purchased product in July 2020. Hose was good but it is now leaking a lot of water from the brass fitting. Seems like there could be a crack in the brass fitting. (Not at the faucet point but from the hose to the brass fitting located on the hose)
