simple thought process that produces instant results
I have been a duffer for years and gave up the game 10 years ago.. I could not get all the parts of the game going at once, drive well, chip terribly, chip well drive horribly, get those two things going and 4 putt. Bought some new clubs recently and figured to try again on a more thoughtful level, with less ego. When you start sinking those 15 footers regularly, confidence begins to intercede and you look forward to your next challenging putt. This book has created for me an understanding of putting, reading greens on an elementary level and steadying myputting swing to a simple pendulum action. First day out after really studying this book and I am a putter. 1 putts 20 percent of the time, 2 putts 70 percent of the time and the odd three putt and that was the first day out. Now my one putts are increasing, two putts naturally are decreasing as a result and three putts are few and far between. Yesterday I two putt every hole over 20 feet and my 6 footers and or lags are going in regularly. My study has shaved 20 strokes off my previous scores which means now I am less than a boogey golfer. Amazing at my age, don't tell, (70). This book is simple and produced great results for me. Elbows to the ribs, reading greens and trying to sink the ball into the hole with a plan b to miss closely, Aim small miss small Recommend it to the utmost. plan B to set up my missed putt has taken the pressure off of confidently trying to 1 putt

I reduced my handicap index by 3-to-4 points using this book
I have written this review because this book really helped me reduce the number of putts I have in a round and it boosted my confidence. Putting has been the weakest part of my game for two reasons: I didn’t have a stroke I could depend on and I didn’t practice putting enough.I had a lot of success with Michael McTeigue’s “The Keys to the Effortless Golf Swing,” so I figured his book “Bulletproof Putting” could help me develop a better and more consistent putting stroke, and it did!! I would miss a lot of 2-5 foot putts which was so exasperating because they should have been pars and now they are bogeys! After missing a couple of these I would be so nervous that I would miss the next 3-5 footer. I didn’t have very many good days of putting.I tried the Bulletproof Putting method where you use the shoulders in a rocking motion as the engine of the stroke, while resting my elbows on the side of my torso. When practicing over a yardstick I could see my stroke was following a consistent back and through stroke. It took a while to get used to rocking my shoulders as the main mechanism for the stroke. I was an arms with stiff wrists putter. But once I got the feel and my distances worked out by how far to bring the putter back on the backstroke, I was amazed at how many putts I began making from the 3-5 foot range!! I dropped my index handicap down from an 8-9 to 5-6. Just watch any professional tournament, the guy or gal who is making a lot of putts that week typically wins the championship.I wish Michael would write a short game book for pitching and chipping! Give this book a try you will not be disappointed. I hope this review helps you on your journey to better golf!

Gives all the basics and more.
If you are shooting in the 90s or higher this book should lower your score per hole score by 1 or more. Do some multiplecation - that's 9 to 18 per round. My bet would be more.

Not just for weekend golfers
I would put this book up as one of the best short-game books available. It contains much content, succinctly stated and well-written. Other books on putting have many more pages but not much more useful instruction. My putting has improved greatly thanks to this book.

Essential addition to just about any golfer's library
In my first year of playing golf, I have noticed that amateur golfers rarely have a putting routine. I was no exception before I read this book. In it, McTeigue asserts that having a repeatable routine is an imperative if one is to putt well. He goes on to provide such a routine, and make straightforward recommendations on putting technique. Simple and concise, his prescribed method can be digested in one night, and taken to the course the next day. I have been using it for several weeks now, and what a difference! Now, I'm not saying that I have been eternally cured of the dreaded three putt malady. But, where three putts were once routine, they are now much less common. Moreover, I might now have a round with no three putts at all. Do I have to tell you how good that feels? If you would like to experience this feeling more often (or for the first time), buy this book! I consider it essential reading for any weekend golfer. For that matter, I have seen that it can re-ignite the putting mojo of a scratch golfer who has gone stale on the greens of late.

A simple approach to achieving putting consistency
No magic, just a great description of stroke & alignment techniques, routines and practicing that should lead to much better consistency with putting

Decent once it gets going :has helped me
Lessons 1 to 3 are pretty basic stuff but I liked Lesson 4 dividing putts into those we never miss(the 6 inch ones) the ones to slam in to take out the break, the ones to read and hope to get but not be disappointed when we don't, and the lag ones to get to the never miss region. I've found that useful especially from 6feet in. Worth the money which is more than can be said for so many of the putting books on Amazon

Really helped me as a beginner golfer
As someone who took up golf only a few months ago (and is only playing on a Par 3 course at this stage) I found the simple explanations easy to understand and implement. The only caveat is there is limited information on practice drills hence 4 rather than 5 stars.

This book will improve ones putting definitely.
I have got this authors golf swing book. If the putting book is as good then I will be very pleased. I will know when the weather improves.

Excellent guide to build a good reliable putting game.
Excellent guide to improving putting particularly the classification of putts by distance and advice on the best method to adopt for each distance. The methods refer to slam dunk putts for short distances; drainable putts for intermediate distances; and lag putts for long distances. The book is a good guide for people wishing to improve this very difficult part of the golf game.

Not for me
Learnt absolutely nothing from this book. The more I think about it, along with driving, putting has to be just as important for saving shots but how can you teach putting from a book. No, I'm afraid I took nothing from this.
