Michael Freeman's Photo School Fundamentals: Exposure, Light & Lighting, Composition 1st Edition

This was a good introductory book on digital photography. I used the book for a digital photography class and was helpful in giving me some background for the instruction.

Excellent book so far. Freeman has a great way of teaching at a higher level -- how to think about photography, how not to get hung up on what is technically correct -- and this book rotates between exposition about different topics, a "challenge" to the reader to try something out, and examples from student photographers along with Freeman's review of what they've done.I get quickly exhausted by photography books in which the author laboriously describes technical details of photography without trusting the reader enough to just go take a picture and work out the technical details secondarily. So so far (just got the book) I'm very pleased with this book.

Having read several M Freeman' books, my expectations were high. As expected, the content and the presentation met my high expectations. Michael Freeman presents his subject matter with a sincere concern that it is understandable and has value. As a serious amateur, I believe this book has value for all levels.

Lots of solid pro photography instruction from an expert photographer. Clear and concise explanation of the fundamentals. If you are a beginner, this book will help take you to the next level and beyond.

Full of great explaination with examples covering photography (specialy digital) in just about every area imaginable. One of the best books I have read in my 30+ years of photograhpy.

This is a wonderful photography book. Pictures are beautiful and the book is laid out well. Easy to read and understand. Great price for a great book.

Delivered exactly as promised and ordered

I have found another of Michael's book hard going, but this one was very easy to read. Practical exercises build on what you learn in each chapter, although I need to go back and do these.The book covers everything you need to know to create stunning photographs.

Ok, so the photos in the book don't come out so well on a traditional kindle, but this is a cracking book on photography, laying out the basics clearly and concisely, but also giving that extra detail which can really help keen photographers try to be more creative. For the money, it's an absolute bloomin' steal!

This is another excellent book by Michael Freeman, it is full of clear concise information about how to take a photograph, I am a enthusiastic amateur photographer and have been taking photos for 30+ years, but I still learned something new from this book.

Il libro nasce dalla fusione dei 4 volumi della collana Photo School dello stesso autore: Esposizione, Composizione, Illuminazione e Digital Editing. Confrontando gli indici dei 4 libri si nota una quasi totale corrispondenza con questo "Photo School Fundamentals". In questo compendio sembrano mancare solo alcuni paragrafi, qualche foto, la bibliografia e i siti internet consigliati.In ottobre vidi i 4 volumi in libreria. Li sfogliai ma non mi piacquero. Cercavo un manuale chiaro, veloce, qualcosa di pratico ed il taglio dato dall'autore non è questo. L'unica cosa che mi attrasse quel giorno furono la bibliografia e i siti consigliati, purtroppo non presenti in questa versione kindle. Peccato.Anche se quest'opera è molto aggiornata sulle tecniche fotografiche, ha un taglio molto discorsivo e non molto approfondito.L'autore lo consiglia come base da cui partire per un successivo approfondimento. Ok, sono d'accordo. Però un neofita vuole informazioni pratiche, veloci forse un po' più tecniche e fruibili a colpo d'occhio. Questo volume è troppo discorsivo. Per tale motivo ho inizialmente scartato i volumi cartacei e anche quest'edizione Kindle (il prezzo l'avevo giudicato sproporzionato). Poi in periodo natalizio l'ho visto in offerta a 1,99€ ed ho deciso di comprarlo.Forse è il taglio troppo discorsivo, forse è il fatto di leggere su Kindle per PC, ma, anche se molto aggiornata e con un utile glossario, quest'opera di Freeman non fa per me. Se l'avessi comprato a prezzo intero mi sarei disperato un bel po'.

I teach this stuff and still enjoyed it. I had a friend recommend it and now have ordered an other of his books. Recommended it to my class.
