A must have for flawless wood repairs.
Minwax Stainable Wood Filler is an absolute game-changer for anyone doing woodwork, refinishing furniture, or fixing damaged trim. I’ve used it on everything from nail holes and gouges to deeper cracks in hardwood—and it blends in beautifully. Why I swear by it:• Super easy to work with — Smooth, creamy texture makes it a breeze to apply and shape. Dries fast and sands down like a dream—no crumbling, no fuss.• Actually stainable — Unlike other fillers that end up looking like blotchy plastic, this one takes stain really well. I used it with Minwax stain and it blended in almost seamlessly.• Versatile — Works on indoor and outdoor projects, softwoods and hardwoods. I’ve used it on baseboards, floors, and even a vintage table restoration. It never lets me down.• Strong and durable — Once it cures, it’s rock solid. No shrinkage, cracking, or weird texture changes after staining or sealing.Pro tip: Let it dry completely before sanding and staining—patience pays off with a perfect finish.

Easy to apply and stains well
4 stars only because it's been applied for a few days, so longevity cannot be determined at this time.I used this on a broken, wooden baluster. First I applied wood glue for the adhesion, and I used this to fill the cracks where needed. It was easily applied, using a light squeeze. It oozed out like toothpaste. I used a 5 in 1 to smooth it over. I let it sit longer than instructed, because I wanted to ensure the glue was dried, before I stained the repaired area. My deck was recently stained with Behr "slate" solid deck stain, so it is what I applied to the fixed baluster, the next day. You cannot tell it was broken. I'd recommend, and purchase this again.

Works as advertised
Did a nice job filling those inevitable gouges in big box store lumber. Was easy to apply, sand, and paint.

Old dried up product
Product was dried out and grainy. It worked for the screw holes that I used it on, but it was obviously old stock. I had to keep packing it in there. I will not be able to get it all out of the tube due to how dried out it is.

Works great for smaller fill jobs
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This product showed up at a lower price AND didna better job filling the small holes left by carpenter bees, dries quickly and painted over easily. Well done!
