Doctor Who: Plague of the Cybermen: A Novel

If Hammer Films made an episode of Doctor Who, this would be it. My own opinion is that Doctor Who rarely translates well into novels or even comics, and yet I keep reading them because I'm such a big fan of the show. The setting makes this one better than most. The author also evinces a solid grasp on 11s nuances and completely nailed the Doctor's departure scene.

I've read many Eleventh Doctor books. This is one of the better ones that I've read. Fairly good characterization of 11 -- better than some, not as good as others. Story was good. Started a little slow and then picked up speed. The last maybe 150 pages, I couldn't put it down. I had to keep reading till I finished it.

A good little story. I thought Olga was a great temp companion. I also love the Cybermen. They should write more stories about them. Richards is a great writer. Keep up the good work.

May be the only Whobook he has read....that alone for me is worth the price.

Using the base under siege theme from the beginning of the second doctor's era this story is one of the greatest cybermen stories of all time.

This was awesome! I wish there were more single-Doctor adventures because this was amazing. I loved seeing the Cybermen again, and there were some great twists. Definitely a keeper!

any WHO book you can find written by Justin Richards is worth reading-some books slow to start and anti climatic finishes--not so with his books

Really enjoyed this one very well read dr who meets hammer horror really dark tale and well worth a listen recommended 👍

Listened on the way to/from work (commute) this week and quite enjoyed the story. If anything wrong it would be that the story felt padded out and could have been done in 3 x CDs. I'd just have preferred a little more lead-up.

This was a great story and at 6 CD long it was a perfect length as I enjoy alonger audio story .

Christmas gift

a very enjoyable mix of rather creepy fairy-tale and science-fiction. As if the brothers Grimm had included the Cybermen in one of their tales.
