Factory Reconditioned Poulan P3314 or P3314WS 14-Inch 33cc 2-Stroke Gas-Powered Chain Saw (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

After using the saw 3 times for a total of approximately 60 minutes it completely failed. The chain and the drive axel stopped rotating. Smoke and a burning odor came from the engine and the plastic engine housing melted. Prior to the melt-down there was plenty about the product that was unsatisfactory. The engine was difficult to start. The chain seemed to stretch each time I used the saw and adjusting the chain tension was difficut and time consuming. Even removing and installing the gas cap was difficult and time consuming. The threads on the gas cap were misaligned and a pliers was needed to remove and install it.

I HAVE BEEN USING CHAIN SAWS FOR OVER 40 YEARS THIS SAW WOULD NOT START AFTER TRYING FOR 3 HOURS ON TWO DIFFERENT DAYS. FRUSTRATED, I REBOXED THE THING FOR RETURN TO AMAZON BUT FOUND OUT IT IS NOT RETURNABLE SINCE IT HAS HAD GAS AND OIL IN IT---BUT GUESS WHAT---IT HAD GAS AND OIL IN IT WHEN I RECEIVED IT. AMAZON NEEDS TO REMOVE THESE ITEMS FROM THEIR INVENTORY AND MAKE RESTITUTION TO CUSTOMERS WHO RECEIVED NONWORKING SAWS.

Chainsaws are something that have always lasted many years and I have been using them for over 40 years. This machine sat around for 90 days in the box before we needed it. After a HUGE wind, we had a downed tree needing removal. Alas! I have a "new" chainsaw. And we start cutting away. It cuts well until about an hour or two into the project when the clutch froze solid. I run out and buy another unit at retail to finish the job. Later that week this vendor claims 'out of warranty' and wants nothing to do with the warranty issues. I really don't care about the $90. What is reasonable and decent is what is important. This company will not honor warranty after expiration, if at all. I do not recommend this vendor! They are here for the sale and not for the long-run. STAY AWAY if you know what is good for you.

It was supposed to be factory reconditioned. Got it all assembled, added fuel mixture, as well as bar oil. Got it to start. Took awhile. Once I have it running it wont idle even after warmed up. But the price I paid for it I'll tinker with it. Since it wasn't in great condition what about a carry case for it? With a super discount? Thank you

The best thing about purchasing this refurbished chainsaw from Amazon was the prompt shipment! The saw would not start after following the instructions in the manual. Then I called the 800 number in manual for problem solving. They gave me a warranty station to take the saw. At the warranty station the folks said they weren't a warranty station any more and bad mouthed Poulan. They did refer me to another chainsaw repair place where i had to leave the saw for >5 days and after a call, they called back and they said it was adjusted and I could pick it up. It started after more than several attempts and worked OK. Third time I went to use it it wouldn't start after 1 hour of trying. Let me explain that I use chain saw engines in large scale model airplanes I fly with radio control, so I am not a novice around small gas engines and am a degreed mechanical engineer.I will now have to deal with the starting problem myself.

they did'nt fix the chain adjusting mechanism .

had water in crank case. this was a replacement of another reconditioned (ha ha) saw that had a faultyon/off switch. Ended up buying new one which works perfectly.

Used it twice and could not get it to start Took it to repair shot where I was told "this saw was run with out oil in the gas) I know the oil I put in had oil. Because I use this oil gas mix in my weed eater I WILL NEVER BY A RECONDITION PIECE
