Install Bay ABS116 ABS Universal 12 X 12 X 1/16-Inch Each

I bought this sheet of ABS plasic in case I needed a custom piece of plastic for various uses in the interior of my vehicle. Sometimes I need a piece to secure a panel-mount connection, or cover a small gap or opening. It's easy to score this with a razor knife and break it to the size you need. As a 12x12 sheet it feels flimsy, but when you're dealing with smaller pieces it's actually quite durable. It's pretty thin, only a couple millimeters thick, but that means its easier to heat with a heat gun and bend if you need to.

I used these sheets to repair the front panels on a 2016 Forest River Work and Play toy hauler. The panels were cracked in multiple places and two mounting points were broken off where swell latches hold the panels onto the RV. The sheets were textured on one side, but the texture did not match the RV panel texture. ABS can be dissolved in acetone to create plastic glue. The ratio of ABS product to acetone determines how thin or thick the dissolved ABS will be. I made my two batches to be a little thicker than Hershey's chocolate syrup - so it could be brushed on. The cracked areas were treated to three applications on the inside. The missing swell latch mounting points were a combination of small sheet pieces cut to fill in the area with multiple applications of plastic glue. After all the repairs a fresh coat of good quality spray paint made the panels look new again. Note: the swell latches are available from Southco, which is the original supplier to Forest River, at the best price anywhere.

Used this so I could wire Amp wiring around it and zip tie it however get a bigger piece for that, I got lucky that this piece worked but didn't have any leftover for trimming or any of that sort. But other than that definitely worth it.

Just the material that I needed. I bought two of this item 1/16" and one 1/8" from the manufacturer/seller (Install Bay). Amazon reviews help a great deal! Should measurements be critical to you the 12" x 12" are not accurate, but close. At 67 years of age I've done some "fabricating" with a number of materials. In this case I'm using the 1/16" material to fix/modify the center console of my MGB. I did something similar several years ago with aluminum. MGB people know these small pieces and their cost ($6-8 each) from several suppliers. Sharp blades and a Dremel are a fabricator's friends. BTW, most "seriously sticky" labels come off with some Goo Gone and a bit of patience.

I needed durable plastic that I could mold into a weird shape but flexible enough to be moved repeatedly without breaking. This stuff was absolutely perfect. It's pretty easy to cut with a regular pair of scissors to a general shape. Soft enough to sand easily to get rid of sharp edges. Incredibly easy to mold into shape if you hit it with some heat and it holds its shape really well afterward. I also love that one side is textured for grip/aesthetics. I am ecstatic with this stuff and would absolutely grab it again.

Used to repair a cracked motorcycle fairing. Cut to size and welded in place. Works great now, very sturdy and hardly notice there was an issue after painting and clear coat. Very good value for small qty material purchase. Note one side is textured, one is smooth. I forgot to check annual dimensions vs nominal.

Somehow, I was the unlucky recipient of an uninvited rock hitting the lower grill of my car. The hole had a diameter of about one inch. Of course, the grill itself priced out at about $275 and installation of $150. I immediately started looking at alternative ways to repair that would be presentable. Fortunately, the grill plastic is a matt black similar to one side of this product. The opposite side is a smooth glossy surface. I bought some black bonding epoxy like two part adhesive from a local auto repair shop. With an exacto knife, I cut a section of the plastic about an inch and a quarter by two inches. Cleaned the damage area and roughed up the back side of the piece of ABS plastic, beveled the edges a little, and bonded the piece over the hole. Unless you know where to look it actually blended in quite well. The product was incredibly easy to work with and my total cost including the epoxy was less than $25. I couldn't be happier. Highly recommended for those occasional repairs that don't warrant a total replacement part.

The price and product are great. It is a flexible abs plastic sheet and easy to cut with an exacto knife which it is what I wanted for my little project, however the dimension advertised are not accurate. If you need a 12x12 piece, order a bigger size and cut it yourself.

This board is the perfect thing you need to fit a radio, GPS, or other unit in your boat, R-v, dash, whatever ! Cut it like you wish, make fitment, and that's it ! Very nice looking finish, sturdy, light weight . I love it !!
