I used a different brace that provided support but broke during the track meet. I purchased this one because it looked more durable. I was disappointed it did not provide enough support.I was upset that I was charged to return it and couldn't drop it at khols. I wish amazon had specified the amount you will be charged for a return. I don't know how you can expect customers to shop online without free returns.

I have 3 bulging/herniated discs L1-L2, L4-L5, L5-S1.There are days when it is painful just to stand up. Because of Covid I haven’t been in the gym to strengthen my back muscles, and my back became weak. I tried other less expensive braces, but they were just ok.I received this brace and immediately put it on. I fastened the Velcro closure, made and adjustment with the BOA dials and the brace instantly relieved the pain. I walked my dog with it, and had little to no pain. As most braces this size are a little cumbersome, it will take a little while to get used to it… but if it alleviates my pain during the day, it won’t take long.Donjoy is one of the best names in support braces, and top orthopedic medical professionals recommend them for a reason. Over the last few years, I wasted money buying cheap knock offs because they were less expensive and looked the same, but now that I have the real thing, I realize I should have just spent the money the first time. I went to my orthopedic surgeon (back specialist) ***not a chiropractor,***. and it’s no coincidence that he recommended the exact same brace.

When I first got this brace, it was great. Now, less than a year later, the Velcro that holds the two straps together is starting to fail - come apart. For the price one would expect it to last much longer. A severe disappointment overall.

I’m a physical therapist and I’ve always had some back trouble now and then … this works well when my back goes out. The trick is to have the back part about 3-4” apart before you click the boa down to tighten. This way you’ll get it tight. It’s way better than the 15-20 dollar mueller type braces this is much more support when you tighten it up.

My husband got something similar from his doctor's office and the knobs on the side broke, so I ordered this brace and he says it's so much more breathable and sturdy!
