ACP-EP Memory 1GB PC2700 200-PIN DDR 333MHz SODIMM (PC)

No issues, works flawlessly.Device installed into: eMachines laptop from 2004, model M6811.

Put this in a Dell Inspiron 1000 Laptop. I read other reviewers say this laptop actually accepts 1GB DDR memory in the single expansion slot.Had a 256MB DDR in the slot for a total of 512MB. Dell's claim that it only accepts a 256MB DDR is not correct. It recognizes the new 1GB DDR no problem, for a new total of ~1.25GB now. (The new DDR is backward compatible to 266mhz DDR speed in this machine, so it's no speed demon, but it makes a huge difference in performance.) To bad I didn't know this when I bought the 256MB DDR that was in there a few years ago for $25-$30. Thanks Dell. One of the MANY reasons I don't buy Dell any longer.

I ordered 2 PC2700 memory chips from Amazon for $16+. . when I got to checkout the total was over $30. No problem. It said this item qualilfies for FREE SHIPPING.. fine. One of the options for shipping was free ground 6-8 business days. Fine I took that and paid with debt card. THE $16 chips were NOT FREE SHIPPING BUT!!! they had a $33.15 (SAME CHIP) that WAS FREE SHIPPING!!! and THAT WAS WhAT WAS SHIPPED. I PAID $33.15 for ONE $16 chip. This IS a CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH.My bussiness with Amazon amounts to a drop in the ocean but after I get this finalized I centainly will be EXTREMELY reluctant to order from Amazon again and if I did it would have to be so much cheaper than the other options to warrant what I would expect to happen in receiving the item.***************************************************************(later edit) I was upset with what happend (and I still very justified), BUT, Amazon has contacted me and refunded $16 and no questions asked, so, they did what they should have done at the start not a day later, BUT, they have been very easy with this.THIS SET ME BACK SEVERAL DAYS AND TONS OF FRUSTRATION IS THE ONLY FALLOUT AT THIS POINT, so, please don't use my review to sway any actions, just please, make double and triple sure that what you are ordering meets what you expect down to the penny, I didn't which started this mess for me.(2 $16+ chips - $33+ total .... click submit ...... not seeing it was ONE chip now for $33+)

4AllDeals did the search for me when I was looking to upgrade some older HP Compaq NC6120's. They guaranteed that their memory would work. Of course, I was a little worried. Buying memory on the internet can be a roll of the dice. There is so much memory out there and so many different requirements for various machines that it's hard to know what to order, much less what you're getting. I was very pleased when I received the memory and installed the chips. They went in effortlessly (after opening the laptops of course) and the computers booted up with zero problems. They were absolutely perfect! Thank you 4AllDeals. You're the first ones I'll turn to for memory upgrades from now on.

So here I was with an old Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop that had slowed to a crawl due to widespread software bloat. It's not used for safety critical stuff anymore and I wanted to not have to junk it. Officially it cannot take more than 512MB total but I tried anyhow. Long story short after buying and installing this 1GB module it showed 1.18GB total memory and it was as if someone installed a Porsche engine in it. Great!

Worked in a friends machine that I was helping to upgrade. Still runs XP so I dual booted it with Linux Mint XFCE. Going from 512M to 2G made a huge difference in XP and a noticable but smaller difference in Linux. On a side note: I've done this too a few different machines now. If you want to go one more step an SSD makes things even more snappy.... cheers.

Received product very soon after ordering. Per their installation instructions it did take me two times to seat it onto the motherboard to work properly. Very happy to know that I can now run 2 Gigabytes of Ram on my 17" Powerbook G4 laptop which is twice what Apple said would run. Probably due to upgraded iOS by Apple.

really a decent price for an older harder to find module, i needed it to max out the memory on an older XP laptop, I maxed out memory a faster HDD and then did a clean install of windows 7 and all was good to go, almost as fast as newer laptops with better memory and processors.
