This book gives some good technical descriptions with accompanying terminology for understanding how large-scale walls are designed and made. I was hoping for information about adobe/southwestern-style walls but the content is very Euro-centric, almost all examples from England/Germany using stone/concrete/brick. One short section about rammed earth shows an ugly industrial looking example. Just not what I was trying to find.

This is the only book I bought from Amazon, that I contemplated returning. I kept it because it has enough information worth the book price after return shipment charge. The cover image is the best image and project showcased in the book. I guess you have to have one of these once in a while buying off the internet.

This book is well graphic designed but with less development "in a modern way", with not enough examples in traditional materials as wood as well as in others materials like steel, glass, concrete or plastics .....the only good and enough examples are the stones fences. I don't recomend you this book for a professional like an architect.
