OXO Good Grips 3-in-1 Avocado Slicer - Green

I've seen this thing in various articles for months, but always assumed it would be a hassle having yet another kitchen gadget clogging up space in the drawers. You know what else is a hassle? Having to carefully use a sharp knife to slice open an avocado, then wrestle with the pit for a few minutes, bust out a spoon to scoop out the flesh, then - finally - use that sharp knife to carefully and messily cut the avocado into slices. So I finally pulled the trigger and bought this puppy, and I'm so glad I did. Now I grab ONE thing out of the drawer and use it to easily accomplish all of the above. Just the part that removes the pit saves me enough time and trouble to warrant the purchase.It's solidly built, cute as can be, does all the jobs it's supposed to, easily, is simple to wash up afterward, and it almost certainly costs less than almost every other kitchen gadget you own. Not to mention it kind of looks like a little parrot. Don't be a dummy like me; buy one now. You won't regret it.

My wife and I love this 3-1 tool. We each avocados a lot and this makes it so easy to open, get the seed out and slice the avocado. One tools does it all.

I absolutely love this product! If you’re a person who eats a lot of avocados, do yourself a favor and buy one of these. It cuts the avocado, slices it right from the shell removes it from the shell and easily removes the pit. It makes prepping avocados a breeze. I gift them to anyone I know who loves avocados.

I wasn't sure if this tool would actually work as well as other owners claimed. But it's affordable enough to take a chance. So for I find it works well enough to justify the cost. First, the sharp edge does a fine job of halving the avocado...and safer than a knife. Second, the pit/seed removal tool definitely exceed my expectations. I don't care for the scooping tool much. Too much avocado gets caught in the slicing spaces. I'm just using the knife -like piece to cut out the avocado and that works well. Then I just slice up and mash as usual. It would be great if OXO added a part to facilitate mashing.

This avocado slicer is absolutely amazing — we use it all the time and honestly don’t know how we lived without it before! It makes slicing, pitting, and scooping so quick and easy, and it’s way safer than using a knife. We were so impressed, we ended up buying more to give to friends and family, and everyone loves it just as much as we do. If you eat avocados even occasionally, do yourself a favor and get this — it’s a total game changer. Highly recommend!

This is one great tool for the kitchen! We eat avocados all the time and this makes things much easier and safer. After too many close calls trying to get the pit out of an avocado I knew this was a necessary purchase. I love to give this as a gift too

Slicing the avocado and removing the pit - fantastic! Both work wonders, so I am happy about it. But the plastic part that is supposed to remove the avocado half from the peel and slice it does not work at all, unless the avocado is so far from ripe it's not that great to eat. Photo shows to the left the avocado removed and sliced with the tool - you can see it gets mushy and unappealing - on the right, two halves removed with a spoon and sliced with a knife. So, basically the tool would be perfect either if the plastic cutter would have been absent, or if it had metal little blades instead of plastic to slice through the flesh.

I first discovered these at the grocery store.They were 50% higher there.I checked here at Amazon and I couldn't resist. I can now prep/strip an avocado in 60 seconds or less.Excellent tool.
