Allen Sports Deluxe 2-Bike Spare Tire Mounted Carrier, Model 322DN , Black

I bought this so I could make quick trips to the cross country trails instead of bolting in my heavy Thule carrier. This was easy to put together and holds my bike well. I also still have full access to the rear storage in my jeep. I will still use the hitch mount Thule carrier for long trips or several bikes but this folds flat and installs quickly for local rides so it’s my daily go to now. It’s very affordable and decent quality for what I use it for. I have a 2022 jeep 392 and it fits perfectly on the rear tire.

Bike rack works great, but I would highly suggest using a tie down as well for extra support around the tire/bike rack. I went on a 10 hour trip, round trip, through the mountains with 2 bikes and they were solid the entire trip. The rack and bikes didn’t move the entire trip. I read other reviews of the rack falling off and others using tie downs so that’s what I did. The rack is super light so it didn’t weigh down my 2019 Jeep. It was super easy to assemble, didn’t take up much space, and I was able to lock my bikes to the rack. Overall, I am very happy with this rack.

This rack is pretty good, but I did manage to wear paint off of my bike because it was rubbing on a metal portion of the rack where the horizontal bike support bar mounts to the vertical bar. Just be careful and use foam or cloth padding. This is an inexpensive rack and you shouldn't expect fancy features. Also, I did find it best to remove the front tires and turn the handle bars/forks 90 degrees then bungee them in place. My bikes were held securely and the rack didn't come loose from my Jeep.

I recently moved from Tennessee to Florida for school and needed a bike mount to carry my bike. I have to say that this bike mount is by far the best option I've found to hold a bike onto the spare tire. The hitch mounted bike racks seem not to hold onto the hitch mount very well and bounce around a lot. I can say that this bike rack, when mounted correctly doesn't move an inch. installation was fairly simple with, but be careful when installing the rack into the riding position. the arms are under extreme tension and I've pinched my hands several times getting the arms into position. other than that install was pretty easy. over all I have to say that this rack is one of the best bike related purchases I've made besides my bike. the rack hold well and hold up to the abuse of driving nearly 700 miles. 10/10 would recommend to all bikers.

Bought this for my 2020 Jeep Wrangler with the backup camera. Went with this model over other over the tire models due to the other models not being able to work with rear back up cameras. The rack seems to work ok with 1 bicycle, but I had never traveled any real distance, so I'm not 100% sure if that would have issues either. The first time I put a second bike on this rack, I drove 20 miles at lower speeds and the whole rack fell off my vehicle. Bikes stayed on the carrier, but they both hit the ground and got damaged. I looked at the rack after, and one of the arms that goes around the tire was completely bent, which allowed it to be pulled off the vehicle. I believe this was due to the weight of the second bike on the end of the rack. I went to the Allen Website and contacted customer service in regards to covering the repairs on both bicycles, as I had just purchased the second bicycle the day before. I gave them everything they wanted, except I couldn't provide pictures of how the bikes and rack were set up on my car, as number 1, I didn't think to take pictures before I drove off, and number 2, my bikes were in the shop and the rack is now broken, so I can't go and "recreate" the picture. They explained to me they couldn't cover the charges due to those two pictures not being submitted. This product is not worth risking damage to your bicycle. Best route is to buy a hitch bike rack.

We finally were able to try this bike rack well after the return period and I am so disappointed. We had one adult bike on it and had no issue on the highway. However when we put the second adult bike on we got maybe a quarter of a mile in side roads and both bikes fell off and now need to be repaired. Long story short I would avoid this rack and pay more for something more secure. Way too many folks saying they need to use duck tape and extra straps to secure the bikes. Edit/Update: I bought tie down straps and used this for two adult bikes. I used TWO straps around the wheel that goes over the hooks that are hanging over the wheel. Make these as tight as possible. I used another that goes around both bikes and weaves through them and around the wheel front to back. I also bought a bike adapter for the female bike that gave me extra comfort. This setup worked for a 5 hour round trip journey and a couple of shorter trips. I wish I did this first before spending $260 to fix both bikes after the crash mentioned above. It works but proceed with caution and get the straps!

I read a lot of reviews. I started with the bad and then the good. I took the chance. I saw this product featured on Quadratec and felt they good points about it. This carrier was put on a JL with a standard 20” tire with a cover over it. Installation took about 20 mins to put together. Make sure you have two 7/16” wrenches to tighten the bolts. I hooked the lower straps to the door like Quadratec showed, unlike the instructions below the bumper. It allowed for movement of the door when needed. Both bikes were children’s bikes with the covers over the chain. The cover made it a little difficult to slide on and off over the plastic mounts, but it worked. I had to work the bikes into a good place where the mount would hold secure. I drove over 1,000 miles with these guys on the back of the Jeep and never lost a bike. They were secure and never loosened over the terrain. Happy adventures and enjoy. This is a good and inexpensive carrier worth the dollar.

Excellent and lightweight, easy to put on and take off, with convenient storage. Installation was simple, and everything met my expectations. It fits perfectly on my JL Wrangler Rubicon spare tire. It accommodates two bikes of any size without any conflicts.
