Easy to install and looks great!
Needed to replace my carpet bunks due to corrosion and the trailer manufacturer recommended switching to plastic covered bunks since I live in Florida. Haven’t tried in the water yet but I’m sure my mudboat will be just fine with the plastic covered bunks. Install was quick and easy even doing it alone. Took me about 1.5 hours from start to finish.A few tips:1. Use extra Velcro straps. I used 12 on a 10ft bunk. Made doing it alone very easy.2. Buy extra screws and space the screws 6” apart. I also used stainless washers because like someone else said if you drill too much the standard screw head will go through the plastic.3. Drill pilot holes. Made it much quicker and easier.4. Use stainless staples in between screws. Made the plastic lay flat and looks MUCH better.

Makes loading the pontoon easier
Installation was pretty straight forward. What made my install so difficult is i did it with the pontoon still on the trailer. I had to jack up one side, remove the bunk boards one at a time, remove the carpet and 1000s of staples to ensure a good fit.Bunk wrap comes in a roll. It helps to lay it out in the sun so it doesnt curl during install. So far, the product is working as advertised. The 20' pontoon loads up much easier than with the carpeted bunks. It took me 4-5 hours on a hot day with the boat still on the trailer. What i didnt like:-the wrap leaves about a 2" wide stripe down the center of the 2x4 bunk boards uncovered. At least its on the bottom.-to straighten the curl out of the wrap, i laid them out in the sun--worked very well. Following the measure twice cut once rule, the cut section shrank about 1/2" when i got them out of the sun and into the garage where it was cooler. After that, i cut them long in the sun and then cut to length after they cooled down in the garage.-they dont give you enough screws. Directions called for a screw on 12" centers. That left a lot of puckers. I added additional screws for 6" centers and then used stainless steel staples between the screws to smooth out the puckers.Bottom line, dont install these on the hottest day of the year. These are much slicker than a carpeted bunk so make sure your boat is strapped down well and use caution on steep ramps.Update:After using them for multiple launch and recocery efforts, i stand by the reduced effort to load as we dont power load. Easy peasy lemon breezy. Now, after sitting in the hot sun while we were on The lake, the covers did expand in the heat and pucker, however, once they were dunked in the lake, the shrank back down to size. Im now somewhat more concerned about how much these expand boatless and in the sun as to how this will affect longevity. For now, im satsified: only time tell if i stay that way.

Very slick material
The finish is good and seems durable. There are not enough screws provided, likely because I used a 24’ portion for 4 six foot bunks. There are also not enough end caps for more than 2 bunks. The bunks are very slick and I believe it will be important to limit the angle when backing down a ramp or keep the bow latch secured until in the water.

Great for my pontoon
I previously ordered the short bunk slicks that screw on the top of bunks every few inches. Those were horrible. They stuck to my pontoons and made it even harder to get the boat on/off the trailer. A couple of them even broke off after only a couple uses. I switched to this and it works great. Not slick enough for the boat to slide off when it’s out of the water, but much better than carpet or the first option I tried.

Great product, easy installation
Great product. After install, my boat slid onto the trailer much easier than it did with the carpeted bunks. Since I load and unload alone much of the time, this product will make things easier.#1 piece of advice: Don’t rush. Take your time!I started out putting the rolled material out in the sun. After a couple hours, I back rolled it and let it sit in the sun for a couple more hours. After that, it laid flat enough to work with.I read and followed the instructions for the most part. Counted the screws provided and figured out the spacing. I bought the 24’ kit with bed caps, which came with 62 screws. Using almost all the screws, I could do 8” spacing.I realized a couple screws in that drilling through the plastic would make it a lot easier, so I did that on the rest of the install. I tried angling the screws on some as suggested in other reviews, but it didn’t seem to make a big difference. All in all, I’m happy with the product. I used dock grade ground contact rated PT 2x6. Hopefully I don’t have to replace these for at least 5 years.

Harder to install than I thought
I haven’t had a chance to launch my boat yet so I’m still waiting to see how they slide on the UHMW (has to be better than bare wet wood). This kit was much more work to install than I had anticipated. I highly recommend you have a friend help hold things in place. The Velcro straps provided are a lot of help. Be careful with them. I broke one wrenching it too tight. There is a T-20 bit included in the bag of screws and there were enough screws given the spacing that I ended up with 4 extra, but I used them for extra support at the rear.Seems like a great alternative to carpet.

Great bunk upgrade
After reading as much as I could find on this stuff I was concerned about using it on fibreglass hulls. Even the manufacturer puts the onus on the buyer to decide. They simply state that it’s intended for aluminum hulls. I think that is pretty much just CYA. I decided to install these and what a pleasure. The loading and unloading is a breeze. I really can’t see how they will scratch gel coat more than carpeted bunks. Not the easiest job getting the material on the bunks but the instructions are good. Don’t think of installing over carpet.

Looks more durable than carpet.
Installation was easy. I only wrapped 2 bunks for now to test these out. It does make winching a bit easier. I juse hope they last longer than carpet.
