Q: Will this work for ipad mini?

The iPad Mini is smaller than the minimum dimensions of the holder. Holder Length: 9"-10.75" Holder Width: 6"-8". iPad Mini dimensions = Height: 7.87 inches (200 mm); Width: 5.3 inches.

Q: Can it be adjusted for an iPad pro 12.9 inxh

It holds my 12.9, but just barely. Each time I dismount or remount it, I have a very difficult time. I only have two hands, yet it seems to need three hands to avoid dropping the 12.9 Ipad to the unforgiving tile floor. I have no problems with my 11"pro.

Q: When typing or tapping on the iPad screen, does the iPad & stand oscillate, shake, vibrate, sway or otherwise move?

The stand is very stable. I mostly use it to turn my Ipad into a music stand while playing guitar, but I don't have any issues typing while on the stand or going back and forth between tabs.

Q: How short can it retract? I only need the bottom of the IPad to be about 30" from the floor to use it in a sitting position.

The post retracts to 24" from the floor. articulating, bendable arm that is attached to the iPad can be adjusted down to 24". 24" would be the lowest point. Can be adjusted at any height higher.
