outstanding technology. This is a an outstanding use of technology. they do what they are supposed to do (detect smoke and carbon monoxide) as well as test themselves and connect to each other and your phone app. While not cheap, they are an outstanding product.

Easy to install, easy to navigate the app. They just work. And the ambient light when they detect movement at night is a nice perk!

The Nest smoke and CO detector is a good value and adds a quiet level of safety. It is much more aesthetically pleasing than most detectors. In addition Nest checks it from time to time. How great is that?

I have two connected and adding another. Tests itself with voice. I have one on first floor and one on second floor with wireless access point on second floor and wireless connection is great. Both are hardwired into power vs battery which IMO is the way to go. Battery Backed if power goes out. Well thought out design. Alerts your phone even if mild smoke like burnt toast. So very early warning which is great when seconds count. While not cheap I do believe when/if the day comes and there is a fire or carbon monoxide in building I will be glad I installed these. It has a night light mode to light the way when motion detected. Immediate notification no matter where you are of a fire or CO presence is priceless to me.
