A State of Treason (The Patriots Series) Paperback – October 1, 2014

I am fascinated by this series, kind of like seeing it come true on the nat'l news. Hate that things like this are now actually happening....

I and my family moved to Texas for my job in 1998 and I have seen and felt the pride and patriotism of the people here ever since. TEXAS is a true bastion of freedom-loving and despot hating patriotism and the sentiments put forth in this book are as real as the threats to our LIBERTY represented by the thinly disguised characters depicted here that represent the current federal administration. Americans truly need to wake up, as this work of fiction displays chillingly - what scares me most about this novel is that you can envision it actually coming true. I could not put it down and only wish the ending resulted in more consequences for a DESPOTIC federal government, but hopefully there's a sequel coming.

The sequel to Patriots of Treason is even better than the first. Ripped from todays headlines, you have to ask if David Thomas Roberts is just a good story teller or is he a prophet???? Most of the action takes place in TEXAS but it doesn't matter if you are a Texan or not, If you love great storys in the mold of Tom Clancy you will love this book. Read Patriots of Treason first then Find out why the spirit of Santa Ana is still alive and well. Find out why Pops Younger is what we need today! You will cry, you will laugh, you will stand up and cheer out loud. You will not be able put it down.

Dave is not a native Texan, but he understands us and has written a book any native Texan would be proud of. His attention to detail and accuracy is incredible. As someone who is very familiar with the state geography, population groups, and political complexity, this read more like a retelling of a true account instead of a fictional novel. Dave nails every aspect. This is an incredible work, as is the sequel, and I have re-read them both several times and enjoy them just as much now as I did when I first bought them.

I could not put this book down! The story was captivating. The author's skill at capturing, in novel form, the essence of what it means to be a Texan separates this book from others. Texans are different; Texas history is unique. Texans' approach to the encroachments of the federal government reflect that difference in this exciting story. I loved it and look forward to the next one!

I am completely in love with this action-packed story. From the first page to the last David Thomas Roberts does an amazing job of combining just the right amount of suspense and drama. Combined with the unique plot and interesting characters, its no wonder that I finished this read in a single sitting. If you're looking for a thriller you won't soon forget you'll definitely want to check this one out!

Again, this book could be pulled from today's headlines. It picks up where the previous book (Patriot's of Freedom) left off. Exciting from the first pages. You will not be able to put this book down. I found the direction of the book to be very believable. I also loved the ending. If you like action and relevant subject matter, you will love this book. Hope the author has a third book in the works!

Book 2 in the Patriots seris is a roller coaster ride that is so close to reality isn't funny. Can't wait for the next book.
