Green Water Tracing & Leak Detection Flourescent Dye - 1 Gallon

I bought this to find where my boat was leaking water. After a lot of trial and error, I found the suspected areas(s). Using this product confirmed it.It is *VERY* bright green and you cannot miss it, even when its watered down.

The media could not be loaded. This worked perfect for our homemade puking skeleton Halloween decoration. You only need a little bit of the tracer dye and it lights up perfectly with black lights. It was easy to use and lasted great through the season. We still have a lot left over for Halloween this year.

A little goes a long way. Used this to find a leak in our koi pond, about 2500 gal. Used less than a quarter of the gallon. Looked like someone melted neon crayons in th pond. Easily found the leak. Plenty left over to use in our smaller pond for Halloween--for many years!

I bought this dye to literally trace water flow. I have an older house that has a concreted-in drain tile under the basement floor dating from the house's construction. I wanted to determine if water pumped into the drain would make its way into a newer drain and sump system that now carries water. I poured 1 pint (probably WAY overkill) of green dye into a hole drilled into the drain through the floor; and then shot a garden hose stream down the hole. After about 15 minutes we saw green swirls of dye in the sump pit, so HURRAY we had a connection. I saw green dyed water in the yard at the sump outlet for several days afterward. We found the dye does glow under UV when extremely dilute in water well before white light reveals the dye. This stuff is very strong/concentrated and I can believe that it works well in Halloween vomit projects. :) It seems strong enough to trace small streams and sewer leaks. A crude but effective tool.

it definitely works well in my water. I was afraid that I wouldn’t really be able to see it but it’s like a neon and you definitely don’t have any trouble seeing it when you put it in the water works well.

It worked well...however, I think I should have gotten red. I used it on my hydronic system to locate a leak and the glue on the insulation around the hot water pipes also shows up as green under the UV light. A little confusing when you are looking for a leak and all the insulation appears to have a leak! Maybe first look at the system you are going to use the leak detection on with an UV light first and see if anything gives off a fluorescent color. THEN purchase the appropriate color UV dye. I am not a plumber and I didnt know what options existed to help me find out where my sump pump discharged to, but this product did exactly what I needed it to. I was a bit confused when the product arrived and was a dark red liquid in the bottle, but as soon as it touches water it turned green. I did buy a UV flashlight at the same time as buying this because I assumed it was needed, but for my use case the green color was enough for me to see in a storm drain outside my house without using the flashlight. This was a great low cost solution and saved me from having to rent plumbing hardware or higher a professional. Awesome solution!
