I shoot video blogs for Facebook. I was looking for the best and easiest gimble on the market. I ran into this on my third one and chose the Smooth 4. I tried using my Android but the software from the smooth 4 to the Android cannot function at it's best. Android will not release the total co trolled over the video software. (Go figure!) But on a better note the iphone 9 plus and up only because the software update 12.0 well communicate with the gimble. This software is very sophisticated and can be confusing to the average person. It takes practice and patience to achieve the full function of this gimbal. The fast motion tracking is awesome as well as the color graphs that show lighting problems when shooting a movie or video. This helps you correct the iso or lighting issues. I have a ton of accesories Amazon offers lots are a waste of money but cool idea but I found that the cold shoe attachable ring with the external microphone and led battery light is really all you need for this bad boy. Filmic pro is the better app than the one that comes from the manufacturer which is about 19.00 and there is an option for a secondary controller/screen. If you have a ipad air 2 gen for 9.95 thru Filmic pro you can control the iphone/smooth 4 they the ipad and see your video as your shooting. The boss huh! Only drawback was it does not have auto tracking and occasionally the motors on the gimble get hot and auto shut down. I called the manufacturer they said to balance the unit but turns out the case on the phone made it to heavy. You need a naked phone only because the iphone is big and heavy. Some gimbals have a setting that you place on a tripod or hand held, turn on and as you move the gimble moves with you tracking your movements. pretty cool but they still need to get the bugs out. The screws that held the three axle gimbal came loose from the handle and fell apart while filming out of the country. Unfortunately I bought this three months before my trip in order to educate myself on how to film and vlog. So being out of the country for another month and not able film with it I was greatly disappointed. You get what you pay for, so I will actually buy a more well known gimbal with metal construction instead of cheap one.
