Definitely a winner!
We purchased four of these Nerf Laser guns for Christmas for our kids (ages 5 and 7). We decided on two of the larger Combat Blasters and two of the smaller Alpha Point guns. We've played with them every night since and it's been a great after dinner family activity that we hope will help get us through a long winter with more time indoors.Comparing the two guns: the Blaster is definitely the grown ups choice while the smaller Alpha tends to be picked by the kids. The Blaster has a larger magazine and shoots in 3 round bursts. It has hepatic feedback (vibration) and a small screen that shows life and ammo. The Alpha has 5 rounds per magazine and is single fire. There is no vibration and two icons that light in various colors to show life and ammo. My kids are smaller and the Alpha seems to be the choice for them due to it's smaller size. The larger blaster seems to be a bit cumbersome for them to manage while running around the house and screaming like banshees. The accuracy on both guns is very impressive. You really do have to aim the gun at the red sensor on the front - it isn't all that easy to get a hit and makes play more fun as you need to line up your shot before you take it. This may be a little tricky for littler kids to get the hang of and not be frustrated. If it's really a problem you can set the adult guns on outdoor mode to even the playing field a bit. There are two modes - indoor and outdoor. Switching to outdoor mode makes it much easier to hit a target while playing indoors so you want to make sure to be on indoor mode when indoors, otherwise you'll be getting hit while standing behind walls.Connecting the guns to the online app was very simple. A few button pushes and we were all set to go. We haven't played the app version where everyone connects a phone into the game (kids don't have cell phones) but we have played with one phone for the entire group. The phone app is great in that you can set a time for the match and the guns will be activated together and then shut down together. Also, with the phone app you aren't out of the game when you run out of life as you would be just playing on your own. Once you run out of life, your gun shuts down for 10 seconds, a countdown starts, then the gun powers back up and you can rejoin. In a game without the phone app, once you run out of lives you either are out of the game or have to turn off your gun and turn in back on to join back in. It's also fun to see all the stats at the end of the game (hits, players killed, times you were killed). The guns so far (after a week) seem to be well made. They've been dropped several times (hello 5 and 7) and seem no worse for the wear. We've played for 7 nights for 15-30 minutes at a time and the batteries are still going strong. Overall, definitely exceeding my expectations at this point. Can't wait to try them outdoors at night this summer.

Great for getting kids off of the video game and outside!
Pros:1. Works indoors and out.2. Lightweight. My 5 yr old daughter can hold it and use it easily3. Easy to use and figure out. I wasn't sure if my youngest would understand the reloading idea, but she picked it up easily.4. Hours of fun outside! Seriously!5. Not all that loud for indoor useCons:1. Easy to cheat by covering up the IR receiver... raise honest kids and just don't play with a bunch of cheaters and you'll be fineSummary:These guns were an instant hit. I bought a set of three (2 for my kids aged 9 and 5, and one for me) for x-mas. We played indoors for a little bit and then we realized that we needed to be outside so that we can find more places to hide and run around. We put the guns on "free for all" mode and went outside and just went to town. It's amazing how fast 2 hours went by. I think I had as much fun as my kids.I was afraid that with the batteries in the front of the gun that it may be a bit front-heavy for my 5 yr old to hold, but she was able to hold it without a problem. The way the gun functions is easy to understand, and even my youngest knew how to reload, identify her "health" level, and even reset it after "dying". It was a bright sunny day outside and the guns worked well without any problems. The sights actually worked well and I was able to snipe my kids at considerable distances.I can't speak for battery life, but we spent over two hours outside with the guns constantly running and didn't have any problems. I did invest in rechargeable batteries. If you're in the market for laser-tag type guns, I highly recommend these guns. I was thinking of buying some of the knock-off brands being offered on Amazon, but decided to go with these by Nerf, and glad I went with a known toy manufacturer.Best of all, I got my kids off of the video game console for over 2 hours, and was able to sneak in some exercise. Amazing. Parenting win today.

Nice change from regular Nerf guns
I got a really good deal on these and they have been a hit. My 7 year old enjoys playing these with me and his dad. It is something different than actually shooting foam darts, which is a nice change. I like the fact you don’t have to wear anything extra . It’s very simple to use which makes it comvienent. We have had other laser tag sets and don’t really use them a lot because they are complicated. With these, you just pick them up and play. We have two guns so we haven’t needed to play the solo mode.

A lot of fun, easy to use, and good quality
I never had laser tag when I was growing up, but a rich kid I went to school with, did. I used to LOVE going over to his house, strapping on the vest, grabbing the gun, and running around the house. It doesn't seem like they make too many laser tag setups of any quality. There is no shortage of options, that's for sure, but most of it is cheap garbage. Even by spending a couple hundred bucks won't really get you anything of quality.I decided to give these a try, one because it was a name brand, but two, they are relatively inexpensive. I was very pleasantly surprised. They are solid, and feel good in your hand. They are pretty lightweight, although substantial enough that they feel sturdy. The light receiver is in a good location, the trigger pull is clean, and the features are much more than I would have guessed. They do have a mobile app you can use on your phone (you pair your gun to your phone), and that gives you an option to play Augmented Reality type games. My 6 year old son has enjoyed doing that, but he doesn't have his own phone, and I'm not interested in letting him use mine all the time.

Amazon comes through again!!
This was exactly what I was looking for in the store I can only find a two pack and they did not have the adapter for a smartphone so you can play solo when there is no one else to play with. So Not only was it the right price but I could not find just one gun anywhere else but here on Amazon and it arrived exactly what it was supposed to as usual thank you Amazon!!!
