The HEMI Growls a Little Louder Now
Not much to say. Easy to install. Better gas mileage. Quicker and smoother throttle response. Sounds meaner. All you could ask for!

Seriously impressed
This made a very noticeable improvement in power. I knew it was going to be an improvement, but was not expecting it to be as noticeable as it is. I have a 2006 Jeep Commander 5.7L Hemi, so needless to say, the gas mileage sucks, but I didn't buy it for the gas mileage. This Intake increased my gas mileage by 2.5 MPG, so I certainly can't complain about that. Giving full throttle makes a noticeable and mean sounding growl. Very impressed. Only wish I would have purchased sooner!

First off I’m replacing my OE filter housing because the fasteners rusted through
I could have fabricated up some replacement fasteners but that would just look janky and risking a failure in dusty conditions just didn’t seem worth the risk on a motor that only has 95k. The instructions are vague yeah you can figure it out but I didn’t want to risk using the incorrect hardware somewhere and then have to disassemble just to change out hardware because i need a specific bolt length. Instructions say use hardware provided… ok give me a bag of crap and I guess I’ll figure it out. Fitment of the air dam is sloppy I tried to pull things in tight as possible but I don’t see it sealing of the rest of the engine bay very effectively.. I got the plastic very and probably wish I would have spent the extra 50$ and got the metal because this plastic looks like it was molded in an easy bake oven not very K&N 300$+ like… truly on this model of vehicle you probably could have just removed the OE air box and just just stuck the appropriate sized k&n filter (probably standard 3 in) on the round pipe on the plenum connected to the air box. An then the issue of the crankcase vent tube. The barb on the k&n intake pipe is much larger then the supplied rubber hose. Hose is 5/8 I think and barb on the pipe is more like 3/4 or in…. So I guess I’ll try to heat it or possibly a barb adapter I have laying around might be the solution… for a company that gives so much thought into their advertising and dyno diagram you would think they could see when they throw a piece of hose in the box it’s obviously not going to fit over the intended bard… said my piece. Do with it what you will.

Easy install!!!
K&N instructions make this is a great buy. The power gain is significant on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi!!! But be warned, the sound will change significantly too :-) The SUV will get much louder when you put your foot into it. If you can keep resist the urge to floor it, you'll see better gas mileage and smoother acceleration.

Great product. Shipped with missing parts, but still great!
Purchased from Amazon for use in 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L.I highly recommend it!Product arrived on time, but was missing parts. I'm not sure if that is K&N's fault or Amazon's. Called K&N customer service and they overnighted the missing parts to me on the spot with great customer service attitude.I installed my first K&N intake on one of my own cars a long time ago and have done so on every car I have owned since.Provides a deeper, meaner sound from the engine. Has improved throttle response (how quickly the engine reacts to putting my foot on the pedal) on every vehicle I have put it on. Has given me better gas mileage on every car I have installed it on.The improved airflow helps the engine perform a little better all on its own. I tend to use an intake like this as a first step toward performance modding my vehicle. On a large V8, this intake would pair well with an upgraded throttle body and performance exhaust and a professional tune to run 91 octane.UPDATE*****Still happy with this purchase!I have driven my 2008 Jeep with this part installed for several months and several thousand miles now. The impact on fuel economy is negligible, but that's probably because I'm putting my foot down more often. Everyone who has ridden in or driven my jeep since installing this intake has commented on how great the engine sounds. Paired with a professional tune for 91 octane, a BBK throttle and a Borla Exhaust, this intake helps provide the airflow a big motor needs to breathe deeply.

Makes my Hemi sound like a beast
I just bought a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7L Hemi V8. I loved the power but was disappointed that Jeep decided to attach a huge intake baffle and filter system that took all the life out of the way it sounded. I've previously used the K&N FIPK intakes on other vehicles for performance reasons, but in this case I just wanted to open up that throaty, animal sound of the big V8.This intake took about an hour to install, mostly because the mounting points for the heat shield were hard to get at. Otherwise it was a piece of cake. The first time I fired up the engine and gave it some gas, I grinned like a 17 year-old with his first NOS system. The sound was incredible, and while I can't make any objective statements about HP gains I will say that the throttle is noticeably more responsive. For the price, I'd take the polymer version of this kit over the stainless every day. The stainless version might look better initially, but unless you're the type to clean your engine bay regularly, it's just gonna get dirty so why not use the plastic one. I like that the black plastic blends in with the rest of the engine better anyway. There's no other stainless under the hood.

Update - Really poor intake pipe and ZERO service response.
Update - Tried to contact K&N about the breather size issue (Amazon makes you contact them directly) and ZERO response! For this price, I would expect better quality. C'mon K&N!Breather inlet is almost 3/4" so the tube they send does not fit. Then you're stuck, because the outlet on the valve cover is 1/2" (which does match the tube they sent). So you have to come up with a way to adapt 1/2 to 3/4 - on your dime and time. The rotomold finish on the exterior is extremely poor - you may want to sand the edges that go into the silicone joints so you get a good seal. On mine - the joints of the mold were offset by a good 1mm.If I had a do-over, i would have gone with the Mopar intake.
