Required Supplement to LabVIEW Documentation
This book fills in the yawning gaps of LabVIEW 8.xx's documentation and ambiguous and dense "HELP" sections. For example, as a retread LabVIEW user from over a decade ago, I looked for a simple step-by-step procedure to turn on, write, a single digital line. Just to turn on and off a single LED. The LabVIEW HELP returned many dozens of topics and forced me to read many extraneous topics to come to the conclusion that I was not going to find any help. Then, I tried to use the "easy" virtual instruments already made for the occassion, but the only one found after navigating through a thicket of unrelated virtual instruments was one which wrote a digital port of eight channels and no explanation of how to set it up to write one digital line. LabVIEW for Everyone... solved my problem and a whole lot more. This book is needed by anyone who is not an experienced LabVIEW programmer and who does not have the time or resources to attend training classes and wants to get started as soon as possible. Travis and Kring have created a readable and effective reference source for LabVIEW programmers. It is possibly the only book which addresses recent LabVIEW 8.xx software and truly does make it easy and fun.

The best choice for a beginner to learn Labview
The book has many pages (981 pages) what scares for a beginner, but the authors are able to direct the reader to perform the examples and fix the Labview programming concepts in a very natural and progressive way. With dedication it is possible to assimilate all the concepts of the book, run the samples and perform the proposed tasks at around 70 hours. It really was a excentente choice, after reading through I could understand and make modifications to complex examples. Could also make programs of medium complexity from scratch. What is an excellent result for a beginner. Really the book worked very well for me.

Great book
I am currently studying this book to prepare for CLAD exam and the book is easy to follow and full explanation. I am glad I bought this book despite that it was published several years ago. However, I did found some inconsistency when I was following activities in the book. For example, Activity 5-2 uses Activity 4-2, but I realized that it was not the same thing the author followed.Overall, the book is okay and I recommend this book to those who are new to LabVIEW.

Great book and tutorial
I have extensive experience with Visual Basic and I needed to learn LabVIEW for work. This book is well written and is an excellent tutorial on learning LabVIEW.The CD with the exercises and examples are a bonus and help fill in some of the gaps in the material.I do wish the illustrations were in color but that's my only, minor, complaint.

The Best Book to Learn LabView
Very chock full of information. The book is formatted in a very understandable way. Don't let the thickness of this book be intimidating. I bough 3 other books, and this one is by far my favorite. The other ones just sit on the shelf, and LabView For Everyone is well used. I use it so much I've attached tabs to mark my favorite places.

This is the book they say to get. I read it quick and studied for about 10hrs for my CLAD and did not pass it.I took a labview class years ago but am not a developer by any means. More of reference then exam prep book.
